Hi,

itīs 11.50$ 2 Players @ FTP. Villain is a huge (aggressive) fish and lost a big pot to me last hand in which I caught him bluffing. In fact itīs the first time he is "3betting" or whatever you wanna call it.

I really struggle with spots like this, because I know I could profitably call getting 1:5 pre or I could shove and expect villain to look me up with a lot of fantastic holdings. But since there is still a lot of money behind I guess itīs not worth it to cut down on my overall edge by jamming like 54% Eq. vs his range (or even worse)... Please tell me if I am right !?

Hero (BTN/SB): t1890.00 37.80 BBs
BB: t1110.00 22.20 BBs

Pre Flop: (t75) Hero is BTN/SB with A T
Hero raises to t100, BB raises to t150

I call this always.
This raise lets you know that villain is probably not a very good player.

imo shoving is probably +EV but my guess is that you don't get called that often and that you can get more value vs. this type of player by playing a flop in position.

if you jam, he isnt calling with any hands you dominate, and the fact that its his first 3bet and its a min 3bet indicates he certainly isnt 3betting light

If it's actually his first time I flat and proceed with caution. If he has any history of doing this with even a slightly wide range I snap jam and take the pot down a lot, and get called by worse a lot.

If my experience with aggrofish at the 11s serves me right you'll get some folds and you're about flipping or perhaps slightly infront vs his calling range. Snap shove.

Now, if this is his first time 3betting and it's the 25/50 level, how could he be an aggro fish? If he's completely nuts post flop and relatively conservative pre, then ldo this is a call instead of a shove, since your edge is on the flop, and he could easily be infront enough of the time pre to make shoving -EV.

With this read I'd just jam and expect to get called a lot by all kind of junk. I know it's weird when it's his first 3bet and he get's it in with A2, but fish are weird. Don't overthink imo.
