Standard raise pre and get flatted. Villain donks into me....so question is, just right to reraise him 7bb or maybe smaller like 5bb...or just call in position....or third choice Shove?
Think Toppair 22BB Deeps shoulde be treated like the nuts right?

Full Tilt - $0.50Heads-Up|10/20 NL (2 max) - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (SB): 21.5 BB
BB: 28.5 BB (VPIP: 80.77, PFR: 56.00, 3Bet Preflop: 20.00, Hands: 31)

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A 9

Hero raises to 2 BB, BB calls 1 BB

Flop: (4 BB, 2 players) 8 A 4
BB bets 2 BB, Hero raises to 7 BB, BB calls 5 BB

Turn: (18 BB, 2 players) 5
BB bets 9 BB, Hero raises to 12.5 BB and is all-in, BB calls 3.5 BB

River: (43 BB, 2 players) 7

Hero shows A 9 (One Pair, Aces) (Pre 65%, Flop 78%, Turn 18%)
BB shows 8 5 (Two Pair, Eights and Fives) (Pre 35%, Flop 22%, Turn 82%)

^Why not flatting? you think donks in this spot tends to be more fd\8x than air?

easy flop shove! What's with the 2 previous answers!???

a $0.5 player donking an 8 or a FD never folds it to a shove. he will call your shove ALWAYS with a FD and put you on one when he has the 8. No point mucking around.

If we assume that this is a micro stakes opponent who doesn’t fold his weak showdown hands then call flop seems best. This way he can continue with his bluffs and we can get value from his weak showdown hands on later streets.

how often do you see a random donking as a bluff on an A high board? (and on top of that barrelling!)

First wanted to tell you that I´m using your 3bet shove calculator and its great. I also read your posts about opponents open shove tendencies some time ago and think that these are one of the most helpful posts in this forum. Thanks.

I lean towards floating because if the opponent is loose and never folds his 8x, 4x hands then we gain nothing by raising. All the chips are going in anyway and it doesn't matter what street we bet or raise.

Shove is better vs flush draw if he calls our shove but ch folds if he misses turn.
Flush draw is much less likely holding than pair.

I also looked through my database. Filtered for hands where flop contains A, I have Ax and opponent donk bets. Really small sample (7$-30$ level).

1/3 was mid or low pair (sizing usually 1/2 pot)
1/3 was bluff with air (sizing about 1/2 pot)
1/3 was min donk bluff (interestingly all min donks were bluffs)
one pot size donk with draw

No data about barreling.
