re: Scarer's WSOP 2012 Package - $18k+ UNPAID TO BACKERS - *Thursday payments reported*

Hey guys,

Just managed to get online and read all of your replies and concerns.
  • BackingDonk - Your right about the refund figures being slightly off. It appears that I unintentionally omitted one of the $3k buyin mtt's from my previous figures. I'll make a new post with correct numbers and list all events played and missed.
  • Quote:
OP also sold this package as mini packages with less mark up and as individual events.
    - I had posted this initial package only a short time before the series started so I also made a 2nd post which split the original package down into 3 smaller packages which equated 1.21, 1.22 and 1.3 markups. It gave anyone who wanted to buy a share more choice. I also sold off the remaining action via individual posts whose markup reflected that of the split packages. The overall difference in markup betwen the split packages and the main package is very small.
  • Quote:
I really question where all the money has gone and why it's OK to take a month to pay people back. Arrangements can be made.
    - The money hasnít gone anywhere. The vast majority of payments were received via Pokerstars. Since I had left the sale of the package so late I was unable to cash out the vast majority of the funds I had on Stars, which included some of my own roll. My plan was to get out to Vegas and have my brother cash out the remainder over the following weeks. However this didnít work out and Stars froze my account; stating that I was not able to cash out monies which had been transferred without playing with that money first. Hence the wsop buyins were mainly funded by my own money and some buy pieces bought for cash out in Vegas. This obviously left me short and unable to fulfil the package commitment.

    - I really don't see how this would be possible and even if it was might equate to a couple of dollars difference for everyone. After all the majority of events played were of a 1.25 MU value.

As I said before it's a ****ty situation and I apologize to everyone for the inconvenience. I would have returned home weeks ago, however I have an obligation to remain out in the states until the end of the month.

Why doesn't your brother process the refunds now then?

Yeah actually it really is. There was nothing in your various multiple staking threads about how it would be until the end of July before anyone got paid out. I'm sorry, but I'm also not buying the fact that you can't ship back right now. I know I, for one, sent you Skrill and not PS. You were also able to find the money to spend an additional month in the US.

You are picking and choosing what you are addressing, but your answers are not satisfactory. Oh, you sold the same package at a different markup but that's ok? No actually, it isn't, especially when you cancelled the event with the highest ev. I for one did not plan on making you an interest-free loan especially as I get more concerned that I won't get paid back.

How about you address these concerns? Even better, how about you start paying back now, and not later. There really is no excuse.

Its your obligation to pay back your investors as opposed to buying more time as it seems that what your doing.

On a nice note, this is the only one of these so far I've seen from the WSOP. Thats pretty good.

GL getting your money back investors.

Spoke to Bogan on skype today and he has asked me to post the following:

Quote:
[7:27:53 PM] Dean: Hi guys,

Been asked to take a look at this thread regarding Scarers package for the world series and am happy to help in any way that I can. David's last contact with me was on the the 26th of June when I was trying to arrange to send over my small % of the main event I had purchased when David informed me that his star's account had been locked down. I have not staked David since his Sunday Storm win but during his time with me there was not a single concern and he was near a perfect horse to have and im sure this will be sorted out asap.

This is a pretty common thing to happen with Stars and cash outs and it might have just been a lack of forsight by David regarding how much he would need to pre cash out for the series. Ill do my best to get in to contact with him and try to see if I can help in any way until he returns. If the account is locked and waiting for him to clear the amount of FPPs then Im happy to help David where I can to make smooth payments to all parties.

If I can get a full list of what is owed and there Stars name and David if you can please contact me on Skype asap we can get the show on the road and the transfers in order. I hope for all involved that this gets sort asap and will do what I can to help both David and the Investors in this package come to a speedy resolution.

Regards Bogan4life
Thanks to Dean.

so, OP is travelling around the east coast of the US, playing poker/gambling in AC (Atlantic City?)?

seems pretty absurd that you basically hold these investors money hostage while you travel around on a vacation.

hope this gets worked out.

lol

someone was nice enough to pay off the small pieces, so those people could get their money and invest elsewhere, but since you felt it was "wrong" you declined? seems a bit ridic.

its bad enough you monopolize these peoples money for longer than you should, but now you make another dumb decision and dont get their money back as soon as possible.

you arent helping anything.

I also dont think anyone will understand, as your last sentence states.

Yeah like Zima said thats just terrible, you held those peoples money for long enough as it is and then when someone offers a solution thats going to satisfy all parties (except for giving you a tiny bit more hassle) you decline, I really think you should reconsider that decision.

Seeing how it is my money not yours i accept the offer of payment from your friend. If you could transfer to rich-king on stars would be good.

Thanks

David I payed through Party Poker so I dont see the problem with you paying me back. I understand you wanna pay every1 back at the same time to avoid confusion and other stakers being upset. But this isn't ur money to make these decisions. I need my money back ASAP for other investments

I'm really surprised to see so many people reacting here like they couldn't afford to lose the sum they invested. Of course it can be a frustrating situation, but this money could have been gone anyway; when you first decided to invest in this package, you must have thought of the possibility that David made 0 cashes even playing all the tournaments, right? I feel many are overreacting.

of course everyone could have lost the money, but they didnt. so, your point is pretty stupid.

they didnt lose all their money. their money is being held (unjustifiably) by Scarer and should be paid back. why should Scarer decide the right time to pay them back? why should scarer decide what amount of money is significant to people in terms of investing/using it for whatever.

there are no over reactions when people's money is being mistreated as it is.

This post is just so lol-worthy. So it therefore follows from your logic that if anyone gets scammed in marketplace it's ok because they could afford to lost that money anyway?

Except here we're obviously not being scammed and pretty sure to get our money back.

Since you have apparent inside knowledge of that certainty, it would be nice of you to also share the expected timetable with the victims.

Or are you not "pretty sure" about that information?
