Question - Stakeing EPT Barcelona Question - Stakeing EPT Barcelona

Hi guys,

I have a question regarding a possible staking deal.

Until now, i don’t have any experience regarding staking.
Of course I know how it usually works with MU and so, but in my situation someone maybe want to stake me full for the following tournaments at the EPT Barcelona.

Estrellas Main Event (August 17-22, 2016) – €1.000 + €100
PokerStars Cup (August 17-22, 2016) – €400 + €40
Estrellas High Roller (August 21-23, 2016) – €2.000 + €200
EPT Main Event (August 22-28, 2016) – €5.000 + €300

So, the Buy In is 9k, which the staker would pay.
He has the money – I have the knowledge.

So, what’s a faire Deal for both of us?
Sharing the Prizemoney 50/50 or 30/70 or 70/30?!

Thanks for your Informations.
Best regards from Austria

Whats fair depends on who you ask.

Some people charge as much as they can and don't care if investors are losing and they think thats fair. Others try and structure a deal so both parties are making a profit to some degree.

If the investor is putting up all the money in this case a split of around 85/15 investors favour is about the norm but i have no idea how good you are at poker.

If you want to do a 50/50 split with the investor putting all the money up you are going to struggle here. Maybe try youstake or some other con site you may have more luck there.

In order for me (or other investors) to make a recommendation as to a fair markup/profit split, we would need to see your results (i.e., are you a proven winner, newcomer to Live MTT's or a breakeven player). Could you post a link to your hendon mob?

Somewhere between 70/30 and 85/15 depending on how good you are and how good the tournaments are

until now i have played 190 live tournaments between $150,- and $10k (WSOP Main). i play nearly every weak in my home casino the €150 tourney, and mostly €300 - 500,- mtts, and sometimes 2k events.

i'm a statistic fan and recorded every of the 190 tourney in a excel file, where i made a fine statistic with ROI, net profi, €/h, total hours played, etc.

my ROI is pretty good and i have an ITM quote of nearly 25% (most tournys i play, only pay 10-12% of the players)
i'am listed with 35 hendon mob results, but i only have a total live earnings of 100k, because i don't cashed deep in the bigger events like 2k, i have already played.
online i cashed 3rd in sunday warm up, and had some 10k results.
i read nearly every book (including all online ebooks) and in former times i had a leggopoker subscription. so i think i have a pretty good theoretical knowledge.

so based on this information, do you think 50/50 is exploiting my staker?
for me it would also be ok to spend 4,5k (50% of EPT Barcelona Buy Ins) from my bankroll for the EPT events. what you think is then a fair deal for both of us.

thanks for your answer

50-50 would be absurd if there's no make up
30% is for sure too high too.
If you are very friendly with the staker and he has money and doesn't mind giving you a great deal..

Fwiw, think of it like this. In a deal where you free roll each event, staker pays 100% of the profits for x where x is his share. 100/x = the mark up he is paying.
But, since it's a package it's a little better since he makes up losses.

Example, if u free rolled all cashes at 70-30 the mark up is 1.43 since 100/70 = 1.43.
As a package it's a little better than that but 1.43 would be very high for your results etc and doesn't take into account he buys it all.

Think you overestimate the relevance of a) 200 sample size in mtts and b) local $200 type buy ins btw.

So, if u are asking a fair deal for a reasonable price to sell on here something like 85-15 is prob most realistic, if he's willing to give u a great deal then higher is possible I guess..

The whole problem with this kind of deal is that it's literally impossible to know the effective mu since it depends on your finish distribution which is literally impossible to know (can guess but even then you need complex formulating).
I highly highly recommend ppl (exception being some experienced experts) to avoid using that system in general for this reason.
If you use a more standard way to sell, then just sell x % of each tourney at a mark up. You should prob sell different %s of the tourneys since selling the same % of a 400 and 5k makes no sense for obv reasons.
