Nobody here reached out to me privately except Donny from Twitter who asked how I busted my second entry. I was completely unaware this thread was still active until a friend notified me today.

I'm a bit confused. Were people expecting hand histories? I never ask anyone for HH advice (personal preference), and I don't wanna give away my thought process on a public forum. So at that point if i post hands, then it's a hand in a bubble with mediocre context and often unverifiable.

When I'm playing a big live tournament, I am completely in-the-zone focused. I don't like talking to people on breaks, texting anyone on my phone, listening to podcasts, or anything. I have light background music only, and then on breaks I go for a 10 minute walk. I'm at my best when I'm single-minded. If you look at my main event tweets etc, I only tweet at the end of the day when I bag and I don't have to worry about losing my focus. And even then, it is just chip count.

The tournament had 40 minute levels and I re-entered at 1600bb with a 100k starting stack. If i felt it was a bad spot I wouldn't have re-entered. Thought all this would go without saying.

Here's what I told Donny:

I rarely sell action and haven't in a while. Again, didn't know this thread was still active. I apologize if the transparency wasn't up to par. However, please note I did everything I could to play my best. I've seen people at the tables before, who I knew had sold big pieces, be constantly on their phone or otherwise unfocused. Any time I'm playing a big live tournament I'm taking it very seriously, especially when I have investors. So again, sorry for the lack of detail, but at the end of the day you're paying for my ability and decision-making, and rest assured the quality was there.

I don't think backers want in depth HH analysis but they do just want a basic which level you busted in, and maybe a basic HH like JJ<AK AIP, or 4 bet A5s AIP re player opening 80% from the BTN, or whatever the hand was.

Without getting any of the above it could be perceived that the backed player is taking their backers for granted.

To be fair, a lot of backed players *don't* give such information and do appear to take backers for granted, but this still doesn't make it right, and it can put backers off.

i edited i think after you posted so just wanna make sure you don't miss this as it kind of answers this:

I generally don't tweet hands unless something funny or insane happened. Frankly I've never gotten value in my career through sharing hands. If I had bagged or even made dinner break, I would have tweeted a chip count update. Granted, I definitely should have updated when I re-entered.

I did see all of the above, and it's all logical.

My pov purely relates to this backing thread, that you sought backing, people invested, and the totality of your report back to them was, "Busted both entries, sorry guys".

It just makes it feel like the backer's money vanished into thin air and that their backing was maybe not appreciated.

IMO it is quite a privilege to be backed. Yes people do it to make money, but they are the ones taking a bigger risk than the backed player because their investment and potential returns are not underwritten.

Hi Andrew thanks for responding. SageDonkey has quite eloquently worded my feelings. I obviously was not doubting your play or your intentions. Neither did I want or expect detailed hand reporting or updates. I did expect a little more than the brief update you had made earlier. That was all. Even just bustout hand details or whatever would have sufficed. Cheers.

You probably could have just posted the HH and not even revealed the thought process in your exchange with Donny or at least only give it via PM to investors if that's something you're concerned about as you stated you are.
