I just don't see how one could trust him, especially if he binked something larger that he wouldn't otherwise be playing in if Brian wasn't backing him. That money is going to get transferred, yeah? Would you bet on that?

And, yes, as a matter of fact it would look quite shady for a 2p2 moderator to be backing a player who has made multiple attempts to scam and successful scams on said site. Surely I don't have to explain why..

Furthermore, while Nick may have turned down this offer accordingly to ZBT, had he accepted it I feel a majority of members would agree with me that ZBT could/should forward his horse's future earnings to the investors from this thread.

If Brian is able to put that much faith in a green, trophy hoisting, 3x(+) scammer, liar (and cheater) to back him online and let him keep HIS money on Nick's account, then this shouldn't be a problem, right? But I will accept that there are flaws to that argument as well. The most obvious being how unfair that is to Brian, but Brian was making the offer so...? #moralsandsuch

If I were ZBT then I would have to know for fact that I will A. make money, and B. get paid. So, I definitely think it would be shady as **** for ZBTHorton to have currently been backing Nick and not address this til now. IF IT WERE THE CASE, which it isn't apparently.

I mean, backing is complicated when it comes to people scamming. There's this fine line you walk all the time between getting totally screwed out of money but warning others, and trusting people who want to pay you back. You can't just run to 2p2 every single time someone is a little late paying you something, you'd go broke as a backer. But on the other end of the spectrum, sometimes people don't respond to a damn thing except you ratting them out. I guess scammers aren't all the same or something.

I just felt based off my experiences with Nick, that we could come to an arrangement that could be beneficial to everyone involved. I think this was when he was playing like 2/180's, so obviously my deal didn't have to be huge with him in order to increase his ability to earn money at a pretty critical rate. Now that he's back up at the 15's, I can't imagine I could come up with a package that would work. Besides, I was really looking for a low variance way for him to pay me back, pay others back, get on his feet. And obviously with few SNG's above that level we'd have to go to MTT's and that sounds like an awful idea for everyone involved.

I don't really know what I would have done if I had been backing Nick during the ME, and this all transpired. But I would have done something. But fronting Nick 10K to pay people back wouldn't have been one of the things I would have done, so I think we'd likely be exactly where we are now with him moving to Vancouver and grinding his way to pay people back ASAP.
