I usually rail in here too after the tourney is over.
Flight B Event 1 Bullet 1
Never got anything going. AK bricked over and over, and other hands I won some but lost more obviously. Never any traction. Table was actually had some pretty tough spots at it, but that didnt play into it...just never could get going. Finally push 66 and walked into JJ to bust. Bullet 2 tomorrow into Flight C.
Finally was building a stack slowly but surely and had an amazing table draw. I definitely had the edge in skill by a long mile. Got it up to near 40k and then lost it all in about 20 minutes time. The two big ones were QQ lost to K10 and then the end of it was KK lost to 69 who flopped open ended and a flush draw and we got it in on the flop. Seemed like my stack disappeared in a blink. One of the first times I havent bagged this event since HPT has been coming here.
Tomorrow is the 7 Game Mix, the tourney I was mostly looking forward too....LOVE the mix games. Hold em gets boring. Hopefully I cant get something going tomorrow. Still a long way to go.
Well, played my butt off only to lose two big hands at the end not to far from the money. 117 people started which is AMAZING for an HPT mix game turnout. I busted out 29th. After being up and down all day, I finally ran it up only to a lose a monster hand in Omaha 8 with a set of jacks with no low on the board. I win that hand, I am probably one of the chip leaders. I then finally got it in on razz. I had 745.....the lady had 1082. She hits a J on 4th, I hit a Q. But she hits K on 5th and I hit a 6. I brick the next two cards and she scoops a huge pot to bust me with a 10-8 low as I made only a Jack. I had 21 good cards TWICE. Super frustrating to say the least. 7 hours down the drain. Been playing well, just losing with monster hands the last couple of days. Tomorrow is my sattalite to the Main Event so lets hope the run good has been saved for that so we can get into the big one.
Forgot to update last night. Satty to the Main started off on fire and then lost HUGE hand to have 40k in the first 30 mins when my A10 lost to 910. Treaded water the rest of the time and could never really get anything going, so I busted without a Main seat unfortunately.
Today was the 6 max. Had a short stack ALL DAY, but battle and battled, even doubling up big only to lose it right back....twice. 6 from the money I had to get it in with 8bbs with J9 of clubs and we got called by A2 and he hit a duece to knock us out.
This has been my worst year of poker in my entire time playing poker. The sad and brutal thing is, is that I bet 80% of the tourneys I have played this year (ones other than local nightly kind of tourneys) I have outlasted 85% of the field only to bust right before the money. I keep losing key hands in important spots right before the money. I know when I am playing bad, trust me. I actually feel really good about my game this year, Im just not catching any breaks at the moment. All I can do is ride through it and keep playing. I appreciate those that have stuck by me through it because its definitely tough on the psyche.
I still have two tourney of the package to go. The 150 tomorrow, and then the 300 bounty on Sunday which I won the bounty last time HPT was here. Maybe I will just have to do that again to make us some money. Hell, lets win the 150 first to do that, and then crush the bounty. Time to get this ship sailing the right way.
After two very close to the money finishes, we finally broke through. Took 2nd place in the 150 dollar event for 2284!!!!
Was a battle. Lost a big hand A7 to J7 when he shoved from the button and we snapped him off, but he catches two jacks on the flop. Battled back but once again was nursing a short stack about 10 from the money. Doubled up twice in the matter of like 5 hands and went from 24k to 100k before we moved to final two tables. Went card dead from there and was bleeding chips with no spots.
Got into the money and out of the 13 players remaining, only two of them had chips and the rest of us were around 10bbs. The main chip leader doubled me up as I shipped 7bbs with K7 of hearts and beat his 33. After that, I laddered and laddered as they dropped like flies.
Finally we got 3 handed and the chip leader had 700k easy if not more, the lady had like 200k, and I had 150k with the BB at 16000, so not time to mess around. I shoved A5 only to have chip leader call me with A6.....the flop came out 467 giving him a 6.....but the 8 fell on the turn to give us a straight and much needed double. After that, I dont remember the action, but the other two players got it in on a two heart flop with the chip leader holding 84 of hearts vs the other players aces.....he cracks her on the turn with the flush and we are heads up. That gave me an 800 dollar bump right there.
Heads up I had 190k and he had like a milly. First hand I had to fold my BB, and next hand I got it in with K9 only to be nit rolled by his AJ. AKx flop...but we couldnt hit 2 pair and I was out 2nd.
Felt good though and knew if I kept pushing, it would finally pay off. Ive been playing good all series and finally it went my way tonight.
I have one more tourney for the package on Sunday, which is the 300 bounty. I won the bounty last time so lets try to do that again. We are freerolling and we turned a small profit, so, lets see if we can make that money climb. Congrats to us!!!
Played the 300 bounty for our last tourney. Got two bounties (so we got 200 bucks)d and still wasnt over starting stack somehow. Battled for awhile and then got into a 3 way all in for an 80k pot with AQ vs A6 vs KQ. Friggin 6 hits and cripples us. We wouldve been almost double average with 28 or 29 to go. Once again, get down there only to lose key hand right before money.
Thats ok though. Although it wasnt a huge profit, we profited.
