Ok this post is long and there are gonna be lots of details and some unusual/non standard points so please read everything so that we're on the same page.

About me (this part you can skip)
I won the PCA for $2.3 million in January and paid out my investors promptly. I also just went deep in the WPT Bay-101 tournament, I was chipleader with about 10% of the chips at my high point but then finished 18th.

The other 3 MTTs I've played this year were LAPC High Roller, WSOP-C Rincon and Wynn Classic, and I busted all of those early on Day 1. I also played a reasonable amount of live cash lately too, and I feel like my live game has improved by leaps and bounds in the last couple months.

I'll be vacationing in India for two weeks before San Remo without any poker at all to really get myself fresh for the grind, and I'm just super stoked to play in all both of these series and I'm really ready to play some patient, good poker and not spew.

I am just really happy with life right now and super motivated to play well, and I am really mentally poised to do well, I think. I know from experience that this makes a huge difference, and I'm also in a good spot not to let the money affect my decisions when I get deep and will definitely be playing as aggressively as my skills allow when the real money is on the line.

Online results since last Jan when I started playing MTTs:

Zoomed in on results since last June which is when I really started to figure this game out. I play a lot of tables at once online, and I never shy away from playing really tough, reg-infested tournaments and I've continued to improve and do well against really tough competition:

Details
1. I reserve the right to buy back the latter parts of this package at a later date if I bink something or just feel like gamboling. I want to state this up front and be clear about it. Also, i will obviously post anything like this WELL BEFORE the actual mtts start, so there won't be any confusion.

2. I will be using today's Euro to Dollar conversion rate of 1.4335. When I pay out after an event, I'll just use whatever conversion is happening that day. This seems standard, right? Just want to make sure.

3. I am going to sell this package in an unusual way. I have a different markup and a different % sold for each of these events since they are all so different. So, I put together a total package of equity that I am selling, and you can buy shares of that. So, 1% gets you 1% of the package, which may be more or less than 1% of the overall cashes. I initially tried to break it down into multiple packages, but it just got super annoying because I am so anal I just wanted to have really different share sizes for everything so I am doing it this way. Hopefully it works!

4.

Package Details
San Remo:
5,300 Main Event // 1.35 markup // Selling 44%
10,300 High Roller // 1.19 markup // Selling 68%
2,200 Side Event // 1.31 markup // Selling 20%
4,250 Turbo Event // 1.08 markup // Selling 70%

Madrid:
25,500 High Roller // 1.15 markup // Selling 79%
10,600 Main Event // 1.37 markup // Selling 60%
5,250 8max Event // 1.28 markup // Selling 55%
5,250 HU Event // NO MARKUP // Selling 75%
10,300 HR Turbo // 1.08 markup // Selling 85%
2,150 Side Event // 1.31 markup // Selling 20%

Using the current rate of 1.433 USD to Euros:

-I am selling 68.1% of my action

-The total package costs $92,865

-That's 10 tournaments total at a weighted average markup of 1.173

Remember, I am selling 100% of the package, since "the package" only covers the 68% of the buyins of the events that I am playing!

Also, when you are buying shares, remember that while 1% seems pertty big, the variance is much lower than people who are selling individual events, since you are getting a piece of TEN events here. Also, a lot of these events are going to have smaller fields, and be really "winnable" and so the overall variance is much lower than packages that are really focused on the main events!

1% of the package = $928.65
5% of the package = $4,643.5
10% of the package = $9,286.50

Good luck us! Hopefully I can sell this out in the next 2 weeks, it's a lot of $ and setting up the package this way makes it really tough for me to play if I don't sell the entire thing.

So are we to assume that you will have 31.9% of yourself and will be selling no side action other than this thread?

That's correct. I am talking with Max right now about buying a big chunk, and I will post those details if/when it goes through.

Would you be willing to make some kind of stipulation that once you play the 25k high roller you will finish the package out if in the negative. I really don't feel like having such a chunk in the 25k hi roller if you can just opt out after that and return the funds left over. The share of the 25k high roller represents over 1/3 of the total value of the package.

Yeah, that seems reasonable. If I play the HR I will definitely try to play through the rest of the package.

fwiw, for no reason whatsoever, I feel really awesome about that specific tournament too, that's probably the one that I'm most excited about playing in the entire package. (Not to jinx myself or anything)

just for your own protection galen, it might make sense for you to lock in the exchange rate as is and assume the risk yourself. what if in 3 weeks or w/e someone sees the rate is 1.33 and realizes they're basically paying an extra 10% markup so they back out?
GoldenBears EPT San Remo and Madrid at 1.17, huge package Quote

that's kind of what I was wondering, but the opposite is also true, no? What if I lock it in though, and the rate is up to 1.53 so somebody realizes that they can buy my shares at a huge discount?

Idk, dealing with currency transaction is frustrating, I figured it just makes the most sense if people reserve certain %s and then send me the appx amount + a tiny bit extra and then I will get recepits when I move all my USD to EUR and then give small refunds on the difference? That way, we expose ourselves to minimal fluctuations. Obv if the rate goes up and it's more expensive to buyin, then that means it's likely to be higher when I cash out as well, so the price may change some but the ROI won't really

I am on a train right now and internet sucks, I have tried to post this 2x already. Anyway I am gonna be selling a big chunk to max tomorrow and then closing off what you all already have and re-opening a new package with what's left

no, in 68.5% of buyins (55600/81,100) he will have less than 30% of the action

I do have 31% of the action and I will get 31% of the winnings. Not sure what Dan is saying?

The net of the buyins is 116,216. I am keeping 37,020 of that equity, and I am selling the other 79,196 in equity, and I am selling it for 92,865 which is a 17% overall markup.

In some of the events, I have as much as 80% of myself (the smaller buyins) and in some I have as little as 15%. The simple average of how much of my own action I have is 43%, the weighted average is 31%

Dan and you are saying similar things in just different ways.

Dan is saying (at least meaning) you are risking only 20% of the buyins. (92k/116k)
You are saying you have 31% of the winnings. (79k/116k)

I really just wanted to make sure you weren't going to sell yourself down any further outside of this thread, and you've answered that question ty. Thanks for the response to the 25k hi roller question too, yeah hopefully the poker gods shine on you in that tourney !

Also - don't really care what happens with the currency as long as its clear before hand obv.
