ya i didnt think too much about that, thats probably going to be a somewhat large issue this year for bigger packages...its becoming more and more difficult to cashout large sums of money. I think its a bit early for a package probably, but not terribly early i gueses. I would expect them to start showing up towards the end of this month.

i play so much online that i would probably be able to play enough to get it cashed out by WSOP, but i don't want people to think that i'm playing with their money. the sites have made it clear that they don't want to be used as a money transfer service and they will block cashouts on money that hasn't been played.

maybe i could start a package now taking reserves only? so there would be plenty of time for people paying in cash to come out of the woodwork?

Call the MaxKatz hotline.

Edit: On a serious note, post the package early and offer reserves for April from cash buyers only. Then in May, open it up to everyone who will do site to site transfers. This might limit who can have a piece of your action, but there's only so much you can do about that.

afaik full tilt doesnt have any issue with cashing out money you havent played with...i thought the issue was more about having wires etc actually go through. As long as you are a regular grinder, its not going to be that much of an issue getting the money offline i dont think; even on stars.

I'm more excited to see everyone and relax for a month than I am the actual poker.

To streamline the entire marketplace, I think a template should be a requirement for anyone wanting to sell action. This would be especially helpful during WSOP time.

I'm only very new to the marketplace and wasn't involved in any of the WSOP craziness last year, so I'm certain this template will need lots of tweaking, but it should be an alright start point.

Each and every thread for selling action should include the following (imo):

Real name:
Online screen names:
Country:
Event(s):
Date of event(s):
% being sold:
Markup:
$ per share:
Preferable transfer method:
Alternate transfer methods:
Transfer deadline:
Event coverage: e.g PokerNews Live Reporting
Twitter name:
References:
OPR:
Sharkscope:
Other important info:

I think there should also be a 'WSOP caveat emptor' sticky thread with the real names, online screen names and 2p2 names of sellers who have rolled in the past, or where investors have had issues - and details of the issues. Even different levels such as 'Do Not Invest', 'Take Caution' etc could work.

agree with this ^^^^ I think most people offer all of this info anyway in their op for big packages.

Sounds like it will be less of a buying frenzy for the wsop this year.

Sigh!

I dont really know why everyone is assuming this..... i mean you might be right b/c last year was crazy but i hope not. Guess it depends on cts and max . I think investor confidence may be low b/c there were just too many scams last year but overall the mp was probably pretty profitable. i think scams/rolls will be down this year by a lot b/c of sellers and investors learning from their own mistakes and mistakes of others.

Just out of curiosity would anyone like to run some sort of prop bet thread on which big time investors horse runs the deepest in the M.E?

Obviously the odds would have to be based on how much money is spent and these investors being open to the idea and be honest with how much they invested. I am curious on who the smartest/ luckiest investor is.

if you wanted to sweat this i guess you'd have to establish a minimum sample/investment and measure by roi. Might be hard b/c I assume that a lot of their shares might be purchased privately as well so they wouldnt be posted publicly meaning youd have to have them cooperate with this prop to get their full sample.

I think that everyone posting in the Live marketplace should explicitly post how they are going to handle taxes so that we, the buyers, know and know that the seller knows how to deal with it.

It's not terribly complicated, but it should be out in the open b/c it does have a significant effect on buying decisions.

I'll be doing about 25K package, selling like 17k of it. Do you think it would make sense or work to just do cash in Vegas?

Depends on how many of the big boys you can impress and how willing you are to run around collecting smaller pieces. I am planning on giving cash first priority

On the issue of taxes, I'm Australian and apparently in the US any cash over 5k has 30% immediatly withdrawn when I go to pick it up. I think this also what happens with Canadian players, but correct me if I'm mistaken. Can my most likely American piece buyers claim their % of the 30% withheld or not? I think they can, and the answer is probably out there with a quick search but I'm about to head to class.
