16k at 250/500. Aggro has 30k. V opens to 1k, I 3 bet to 3k, he shoves. I tank call since he lost 2 recent hands.


This was my bust out hand.


-Started the tourney slightly aggressive and won a few insignificant pots in the first level

-Going into level 2, the table gets noticeably aggressive with nearly ever hand raised with one or two 3 bets per orbit. This is the start of being card dead throughout the rest of the tourney

-There were 2 guys I would be happy to play with. One was a limper to my immediate left. The other was an aggro to my immediate right. But position and/or cards weren't ideal to isolate him

-The only playable hands were small and mid pairs but couldn't proceed after the flop. The only significant pot was when I called down the bad lag when he bet check bet with A10 on a fairly safe paired board

-Leading up to my last hand, my villain was active in few pots. He was noticeably aggressive the whole time. He lost a sizeable chunk of his 2x stack that he was gifted on his first hand. One of the recent pots he lost was when he barreled the river with air when it was clear he was going to get called

-I start the hand with ~16k. He opened utg+1 to 1050. I was on the button with AQdd and decided that I would 3 bet but call if the tight player called in between

-Tight guy and bad LAG to my right both fold. I decide to make it 3k. Based on my stack, how was my sizing here?

-Folds to him. He wants to see my stack and after a few seconds shoves. I planned on snapping if he shoved but took some time before I called

-Reason to call: I had a weak image to the table so he might be thinking that he some fold equity

-Reason to fold: a competent player would have noticed that this was only my 2nd 3bet since level 1. If he was in this level, I have to fold to his narrow but strong range

-Reason to fold: even if I put him on most pairs and most of the big A hands, my equity would not be much higher than a flip (didn't run the numbers yet)

Any constructive criticism welcomed.
