Thanks for this awesome package Ryan, you definitely don't find this kind of value often. Can't wait for another big one like this. The twitter rail was entertaining and I was paid out as soon as the package ended. Thanks again, and let's crush the next one

Was pm'd a question, thought I would answer or askit here. I was asked why I would pay any tax liability because this package was a slight loss and OP shouldn't be paying any taxes either. I didn't take the time to fill out a 1099? Because it was just 45 bucks. I did with a 10k score during the series. However I do deduct my tournament reciets and package fees, this will be a wash.
However, OP has tax implications on any score over 5k (?) regardless if the entire package is profitable or not right? Or does the loss of the package wash out the tax at the end of the year? Example if you spent 100k in entries and cashed once for 50k , even though the 50k is taxable shouldn't the loss of the 100 k wash it out?
On this latest package I don't really care it's so little. My equity started at 200 and is at 700 now, I'm just curious how this works. Thoughts.

^Same guy is pm'ing me a book...I'm under the impression/have been told I need to withhold and/or have investor info on all cashes exceeding $5k over the buy in as those are reported to IRS via W-2G. He is also saying I should simply be claiming the total amount of all mtt losses despite having sold action which just cannot be legal... (Example: I sell 75% of a 100k package and brick it all, then I have 90% of myself in a 5k mtt I make 60k on...by his logic I can just claim 100k in losses to the 60k profit despite only suffering a 25kish loss myself in the 100k package...in other words claiming a -$40k net when I infact made a net profit of $30,000...) I am new to this though so will be consulting more experienced players and a tax professional on this to see if I have misunderstood something or need to make changes. thx!
