For exchange rates if you're paying AUD, i'd like to lock in the exchange rate on 15 July 2013 to minimise variance for all parties; if everyone could send at the current xe rate for your shares as an estimate, I will either collect or refund the difference upon completion of the package if that's okay with everyone - the AUD and USD are fluctuating so hard at the moment I figured that'd be best for everyone to prevent either me or investors getting screwed by exchange rate fluctuations over the next month and a half. Obviously this doesn't affect anyone paying in USD.
4200 @ dinner from 4500 start stack, dont have phone sorted yet for live updates will update at end of the day. Could have had a lot more but lol lhe gutshots and stuff, still got a few spots at my table i was up to 9k at one point and down to 2 at another, will have 20k+ really fast if i can make some hands
Cashed the 1500 HORSE for $2816, 75th. Was up to 45k just after we got itm then had a string of nasty beats, first a grumpy old russian fish (he was constantly being rude, and the hand before he had a go at me and I retaliated calling him a sad grumpy old man after he had been complaining about me talking to the guy across the table inbetween hands) raises btn in LHE, i 3bet AK he calls with only 5bb total, flop is A53 we get it in he has A5
Then I got involved in a O8 hand where I open A3xx, 2 callers, 754 flop, 3 checks (my xx were high cards), turn 2, nit villain bets and I just call because a) if I raise he's folding everything I beat and I might be getting freerolled or quartered and b) the third player in the hand is a station who may be drawing dead, station folds, river puts 3 to a flush, villain bets I flat he has A3 with the flush and I get quartered
Then I get involved in a razz hand where I have four to a good seven on fifth vs a likely made 87 unless he's bricked in which case i'm way ahead, but sadly I bricked out
Then I had a big stud hand where I had three kings and a backdoor flush draw against a made straight on fifth and we got the last of it in, I made the flush draw on sixth but bricked the fh/flushquads redraws on seventh and gg
Basically one bad orbit of each game and nothing I could have done really, fairly unfortunate at a very soft table to go so carddead itm, but I played well throughout the tourney and went as deep as my cards could take me and the event felt really winnable
I'm skipping today's 1k event because I need a day off, but i'm regged in the 1500 PLO and 1500 NLHE this week so those are def going ahead, i'll replace the 1k today with another 1k event later in the series (maybe the one drop 1111, one of the weekly 1ks or the binions main or two venetian 500s or whatever) or refund at the end of the package if I don't get a chance to replace it.
Anyway, 1/1 even if it was only slightly over a mincash, hopefully I maintain my ITM record of .75 over the four wsop events so far this year including apac
Chipped up from 4.5k to 10k with no real noteworthy hands winning small pots, players busted left and right so at 200/400 we're already down to a fifth of the field, I get JT96 either single or double suited (don't remember) and open HJ to 900, active BTN flats, BB flats. Flop AT6 with two spades (I have jack high spades) and I lead 1900, BTN pots it and BB folds. I feel like he mostly has nut spades (often with KQJ) with the occasional 2p or set and occasionally just has something like a wrap + pair, in any case I figure that as much as it sucks to call off in this spot i'm getting almost 2-1 and i'm better than 33% against most of his range and can be flipping or ahead quite a bit and worst case i'm 30%ish barring something ridiculous. Anyway, I call and he has AAxx which he flatted pre (which is interesting given I was opening a ~22.5bb stack) so it's close to worst case and i'm ~30% anyway, my flush draw bricks and I bust (rivering a meaningless six to make a lower full house).
Considering not playing the 1500 NLHE on Saturday because I really want to watch the UFC event with the guys from the 2+2 MMA thread and it also guarantees i'll be able to play the 1k on Sunday.
If I do (considering I skipped a 1k already) i'll play the 2500 Razz in the place of those two tournaments if there are no objections, i've played the 2500 razz once before, I was one of the chipleaders around dinner of day 1 and then went totally carddead and busted just before the end of the day. I consider Razz to be one of my better limit games and considering i'm coming off a cash in the HORSE event where I really didn't get amazing cards i'm hoping everyone is okay with me adding that event. If there are any objections from anyone with a share over 1% i'll find a NLHE tournament or two to replace it with instead.
Alternatively I can play the 1500 Stud8 (I crushed it during HORSE and feel like most people play it pretty badly) and the little one for one drop.
So either i'll play the 1500 this saturday as scheduled or if I skip it and have 2500 in unplayed events, i'll either play the 2500 razz or the 1500 stud8 and the 1111 little one for one drop (reinvesting 111 of the 2816 cash in the horse if need be).
Busted last level of the day around 250th with 216ish paid, had 37k after chipping up nicely early a lot of which was from getting KK in vs 55 and holding for a lot and getting max value from top2 vs a guy with top pair then ran KK into AT in a 3b pot on AATQJ for a bunch, then got AJ on J32 bvb, led small to induce spew/floats, got floated by Q4, Q turn, paid off 2 street, then was crippled to ~5k, pushbotted back to 12k with no showdown then got called and lost a race w/ T9s vs KQo openjamming 11bb from CO

July 11 Caesars 1080 Main Event Day 1c
We also have 2k in unused buy-ins, five events left, 2816 in cashes so far. It's pretty unlikely i'll be skipping any more events i'd say.
The most likely events i'd sub in are the 1500 Stud8 on the 21st (everyone in HORSE 1500 seemed really bad at Stud8), the 1111 one drop and the final 1500 nlhe before the main or possibly the 1675 carnival of poker main at the rio if i bust the WSOP and Caesars mains.
Good chance I will substitute in at least one event with the unused buyins
obviously if i don't sub in any events i'll refund at the end of the package for any unused buyins
Made Day 2 with 30,700 - average is 42k, around 20% of the field left. Fairly uneventful day, got it in once 3way with top2 and gutshot vs top2 and lower gutshot vs aces and fd and got there on the turn then counterfeited river to chop. Carddead the last couple levels, not much happened tbh got it in vs 3 shortstacks, won twice and lost once, thats about it really
Also obv in post above I left main out, thats still to go as well.
Finished around 20-30 off the money in the 1k NLHE, openjammed 99 w/ 14bb into AJ, A on the river ends the tourney for what would have been an average itm stack. Really soft tournament, played well all day. Finished around 250th with 216 paid I think.
I now have 5 top 20% of the field finishes in 5 tournaments for... 1 mincash so far this summer at the WSOP. Playing really well though and happy with all of the hands in general. Losing four flips on four bubbles hurts I guess. The 1500 PLo was wrap+pair vs fd and lower pair, the 3k PLO was bricked 19 outs twice all in on the flop, the 1500 NLHE was not folding KK in a 3b pot on AATQJ and running into AT when my hand was underrepped (the only questionable play of the summer so far imo against a river jam) followed by jamming T9s into KQo for the last 11bb and the 1k NLHE was 99 vs AJ for an average itm stack around 20-30 off the bubble. Pretty sure that the only bubble hand I would ever consider playing differently is the KK hand and that's only because villain was old and unlikely to be bluffing even though i'm top of my range and underrepped.
I could easily be 5 for 5 cashes so far had a few hands fallen differently.
10 Game is next up on Thursday, pretty sure i'm going to win this one.
Day 2 of the main in just over 17 hours. Will do updates on Twitter until my phone battery dies.
Day 1 recap
Started w 30k at a table with two fish, a very aggro italian player, two semi regs and a few scared money randoms playing abc
Picked up a few hands early, extracted value from top pair/overpair a couple times and ran it up to 45k or so without any major hands. Got moved to a new table, horrible draw, about 5 unknown regs (obvious regs but not sure who any of them were) and a bunch of random 3/4 betting going on pre-antes. I stayed out of the way and was quite carddead and didn't do anything high variance because the table was scheduled to break soon. Table broke, took around 42k or so to my new table.
Played the first notable hand at my new table at 150/300, two players limp, I 5x aces from the BB, two callers. The first limper was clearly tilted after having run KK into AA a few hands before to double a guy up and had played every hand since and was playing pretty aggro postflop.
852r flop, I lead around 2.5k into 4.5k or so and the tilted guy calls, other guy folds.
Turn is an offsuit 6
I check partially because I think he's floating air that he will bluff/weak 1p hands that he will bet 'for protection' a lot but will fold to a second barrel and partially for pot control as bet-folding turn and bet-calling turn both suck here if raised and villain's been pretty aggro postflop but I can't really comfortably betcall turn and checkcall pot on the river with stack sizes but don't really want to open myself to getting bluffed either.
Villain bets 3k, I call.
River is another 5
At this stage I feel like villain's range is something like 20% sets/straights, 10% 5x, 30% air and 30% some sort of one pair hand like 8x 67 44 etc
I decide checkcall is best, I check, villain bets around 5k, I call, he rolls over 43o for the turned straight.
Down to around 27k after the hand, but this new table seems very soft and I decide to open up a bit and abuse the nittiness of the players on either side of me, especially a middle aged woman on scared money to my left and a guy from Tahiti wearing a SkyCity (NZ casino) shirt on my right plus an investment banker two to my left who is clearly a weak abc amateur.
I open a heap of pots including 100% from btn/co/sb when it folds to me for the next level or so and just take them down postflop when villains miss the flop and give up when played back at unless I have top pair, a couple of times in bvb pots I get 3 small barrels with top pair against the woman betting under halfpot on each of the three streets to get called down by worse 1p hands.
Steamroll the table pretty hard and i'm back to 54k pretty fast without having gone to a major showdown.
I get in a fairly bloated pot with Ax vs Ax and end up chopping and 3betting light a few times against the old american casual player two to my right who hasn't 4bet all day and each time he flats and gives up on the flop when he misses except for one time he checkraises huge and I fold obviously.
The guy from Tahiti has folded from 30k to 20k playing one hand all day according to the table (he doesn't talk) and he finally decides to play a hand at the start of 200/400/50. He opens to 1400, gets one caller. The flop is 722r and he openjams for around 20k. GOTTA PROTECT THOSE ACES IN THE MAIN EVENT.
I go through a fairly rough patch in the last level where people keep flopping pairs against me (i've got the table friendly/chatty so they're showing me for the most part, I obviously had to show a few hands myself choosing nutted hands only to show to get them to do so) - basically I lose 3 or 4 small pots and flop a worse top pair once, drop to around 37k without taking any big individual hits.
Near the end of the day people are tired and excited about making day 2 so I loosen up a bit and steal my way back to 43k or so heading into the last hand of the day. Investment banker has 3k and has been talking about how he wants to jam so he doesn't have to come back to 5bb. He jams the last hand and the 43 guy who cracked my aces earlier who is now off tilt and a loose weakish but not terrible player flats, I flat from the SB with AQ as well. We check down the T37T7 runout and my ace high is good so I end the day with just over 49k.
I missed one value bet in a straight over straight spot where I was going for a river thin-checkraise after rivering the higher end of a straight on JdTd8d7xKx with AdQx after villain raised turn and had an obvious nine rather than diamonds but somehow he checks back the river, other than that pretty sure I played every hand correctly over the course of the day with the AA spot being the only debatable one, betfold turn is standard obviously but it was a unique spot with villain being on tilt and I felt he had total air often enough and was both capable of bluffing and value raising the turn so I didn't want to put myself in a spot where i'd be guessing for stacks, turns out that was probably a good decision.
Pretty confident going into day 2, obviously table draw is huge but I have something like 83bb and I could have a lot of chips very quickly if I get another soft table and can become table captain, if I get a tougher table i'll abc it and wait for a table break since i'm in pavilion and we should break first as it did on day one, table draw is so big in this tournament.
