yes, he did play extremely well, but not sure why this would be a surprise. The guy has consistently crushed it online and has good live results.

bikram: i think timex was more so referrring to how the rest of the table played, and Amir's edge being larger than him (or I, or almost anyone with a quarter of a brain) thought it was.

fair enough, I always thought the suggestion to take a stake at less than par was a little odd given amir's a crusher (even if an unassuming crusher that minds to his own business and perhaps not given enough credit as a result of that). that having been said, this was a pretty unique package and I could see why people would be hesitant to invest or invest at common marketplace terms (for tax reasons, low ROI potential, need for a 3rd place finish, etc.) and there was really only one very noticeable weak link going into the final table (who I will not name) but a couple of others definitely played weaker than we would have expected...
