how about the wsopc lake tahoe from 2011? imawhale took all the action for 75% and the last post was imawhale confirming the 75% and setting up payment privately. I think even if they agreed or Rob said he couldnt play then he should have posted in his thread saying this package was cancelled so everyone knows. Im hoping he didnt play this and imawhale never paid since rob wasnt on any of the entrants lists for the events he had listed

+1 for simply checking previous packages sold by Rob and checking that he actually played them. Shouldn't be too difficult as people seem to have access to casino tournament directors and such.

Confirming in here that that series in Tahoe was not played and that Rob paid us back in full right at the time. I don't remember his reasoning for not playing but it was nothing remotely shady and everything went smoothly.

What I want to rant about is the whole references system in the MP. I personally hate it when someone uses my name without asking me first. This is a Skype message I sent to someone who used my name without permission (I read his OP and inquired him about it. He then asked me if I would post in his thread :

If you haven't (maybe because the situation didn't arise), you haven't being tested with my money, hence all I can possibly say is "I know this guy, he's cool and funny but I can't provide any information about how trustworthy he is". I'm pretty sure most people would prefer it if I don't post instead...

I understand many MP sellers would have difficult times getting their action out there without dropping some names, but building a reputation requires time and patience, something apparently many young guns don't have. In the long run it'll be their loss.

I would suggest one could go as far as to take a picture of themself holding the receipt in front of their chip stack. Would be very difficult to photoshop that.

OP, the fact that you tried to lie and even went as far as trying to Photoshop a fake receipt makes this really terrible for you. You are actually refunding people in a somewhat timely manner. And, that in itself would have gone a real long way in people forgiving you. But when you lie the way you did no one is going to forgive or forget.

If you would have just came out and said that you ****ed up and you will need 2 weeks to pay people back, you would not have ruined your reputation in this community as poorly as you did. heck, you might have been allowed to stay in the market place even though you'd probably never convince anyone to invest in you again.

This is really a sad case of how lying and being shady made things literally 1 million times worse.

I hope you truly learned/continue to learn something from this and realize how lucky you are that the only thing that happened to you is your rep is ruined for a long time.

Any progress on checking that OP played those others events guys? It's great that he paid back quickly, but after the display of lying in this thread, it's needs to be ensured that he hasn't been stealing from the marketplace regularly.

I think we need to setup an unofficial 2+2 task force. These individuals located at various locations will confirm the identity of the people that we are staking and their presence at a said event (when an investor asks for verification).

Since the life ban's/Forum membership removal's are not working, we the investors have to figure out a way to take action that might help solve this issue at the minimum.

I don't think the attitude of "I am ok if I get my money back!" is going to solve this issue.
