Aspiring live MTT tourney reg looking for staking for the upcoming Potomac Winter Poker Open coming to MGM National Harbor Jan 25-Feb 6

Turned 21 last January, turn 22 this January, have some decent hendonmob results over small sample size after studying rigorously for over a year until I was able to play legally live, will share link, results spreadsheet, and answer any questions in PM. Have built a solid bankroll and will continue to grow it going into the event allowing me to feel comfortable having 100% of myself in every event other than the 2 largest BI tournaments.

Have the work ethic and mindset to grind through these events and look forward to really putting my skills to the test for the first serious, large poker tournament series I have the opportunity to participate in and am grateful to be in the position I am in.

Have already taken off work for the entirety of the event, looking to play the following events:
(Note: bolded events are ones that I would most likely not play unless staked as bankroll does not properly allow for me to feel comfortable having 100% of myself going into them.)

Also, I plan to play a number of satellites to get into the main if not staked previously.

Event #8 - $400 NLH Super Turbo Black Chip Bounty - Feb 1 (if possible)
Event #9 - $1200 NLH Freezeout 50k GTD - Feb 2
Event #10 - $400 NLH/PLO Mix - Feb 2 (if possible)
Event #11 - $2700 NLH Main Event 500k GTD - Any flights possible if satellite in/staked
Event #13 - $200 NLH Rookie's Event - Feb 4
Event #14 - $400 NLH 50k GTD 1-day - Feb 5
Event #16 - $400 NLH Double Stack 1-day - Feb 6

Of course, this list of what I plan to play is subject to change but is a rough layout so you can get an idea. Also, I understand that I am relatively young and unproven so of course do not expect to get backed or staked into the larger buy in events. However, I am totally fine with that and am thankful that I even have the opportunity to play in any of the events.

I do believe that I have the skill and dedication to have the potential to see some positive results by the end of the tournament, and would be grateful for any words of advice even.

So for what events/how much are you selling exactly?

Honestly not 100% sure as its my first time looking for backing.

Preferably would like to be backed/sell pieces for the $2700 main and the $1200 freezeout, but would take anything anyone is willing to give for any event.

Whatever people think is fair I would be fine with as, again, every tournament I have won/cashed in so far I have had 100% of myself.

It would be helpful to provide a hendon mob and/or sharkscope link, or at least some sort of track record.

On the logistical front, you would need to decide (a) which event(s) and how many bullets you want to sell for, (b) what % of said events/bullets you're selling, and (c) markup. That way it would be clear what % an investor would be buying and avoid potential dilution issues and other conflicts. Usually best to account for max number of events/bullets you're willing to play on stake and refund (with markup) any unused amounts.

In the original post I say I am willing to show hendonmob results in dm, would prefer not to just have my full name out in public for anyone to see. But I agree that it is important to show results, and I am willing to do so.

For the rest, I am not sure and would have to figure out what to add to my post. My plan was just to, if anyone was willing to stake/back me, discuss terms privately rather than openly have what I am looking for. I would be grateful for any %, any split. Thanks for the advice, will try and edit the original post.

I am doing something similar for the WSOP pompano event in February but selling shares privately.

If I can make a suggestion, it would be:

Sell shares to the WHOLE series. Meaning, sell a portion of your entire bankroll for the entirety of the event. Figure out how many bullets (on average) you’d want to have available for each specific event, total it up, chop it into reasonable bits and sell off from there.

For example, I’m going into Pompano with a 12k BR selling 10% shares at no markup to known backers. They then own 10% of the final bankroll, regardless of what specifically happens (taking taxes into account if applicable). I own, at a minimum, half the roll and will own whatever doesn’t get bought.

You can buy whatever % of yourself outright, that’s up to you.

Just how I’m looking at it, adjust to whatever fits your needs/desires. You just need more thought into what you want to play, how many entries you’re willing to dump into each event (based on potential ROI of a deep run) and if you think you’re at a point where you can command a markup (which, IMO, unless you can show some serious edge, you can’t).
