World Series of Poker 2015 Update #2
As you can see from the post two spots above my action for Package #1 of the 2015 WSOP has essentially sold out. If the rest is not bought up by May 25th it will all go to "Tom H." He is a Total Rewards Seven Star member I met back during my 2013 trip and he is working on possibly getting the bull 10-14 days of free days stay at a Total Rewards property. So, I decided to just buy a one way ticket to Las Vegas because the great thing about this trip is that anything can happen again. My first trip I only planned on playing one small $1500 WSOP tournament and ended up blogging my way into the Main Event. I am ready to embrace the random and have a lot of fun.
Over the last two years I have drastically improved my cash game and tournament skills by corresponding with some well known 2+2 posters behind the scenes who have been kind enough to offer me free coaching from time to time. At this current time I am considering taking some staked shots at Deepstack $2/$5 NLHE or Bellagio $5/$10 NLHE where I'll be charting my hands like the following session I played last night in Detroit.
I initially planned to play this session on "The People's Bankroll." But, was really really tired and the line up at the table really only had one big fish when I was sat at the table. (Besides myself obviously.) Anyway, the make up of the table was one opponent who I respect two spots to my left. A standard ABC rec to my direct left. The table fish two spots to my right and then the rest of the table was made up with all straight forward TAGS. Like, the type that have read Super System. Maybe have read some updated strategy. But, really the only thing they learned is how to play pre-flop better. They still suck on the flop, turn, and river. So, nothing to worry about. Only direct threat to is two spots to my left. As we step into the ring and the crowd cheers our
theme song for the night blares from Motor City Casino's public address system.
Through a year of mostly playing too tight we have established a TAG/NIT image of our own that we have finally started to use to our advantage over the last few months. So, we open the action with...
Ks2s SB 6L R$40 No Callers (+35)
Which translates into King of spades/2 Of spades in the small slind, 6 limpers, raise to $40, all Fold, We profit $35.
From there we go onto...
QQ HJ 3L r$25 1C Ac2c5d bet $35, Turn A River Brick (-95)
Which translates to Pocket Queens in the Hijack, 3 limpers, raise $25, 1 caller, flop Ace of Clubs/2 of clubds/5 of diamonds, opponent checks, cbet $35, called, turn is an ace, opponent checks, we check. River is a brick. Opponent checks. We now think QQ is good and bet $35 for value. Opponent C/R to $100. This opponent was standard ABC villian. Those kind do not C/R on river. We fold. We lose
8d7d MP R$20, 3b $65, Fold. (-20)
Which translates to we open 8 of diamonds/7 of diamonds from MP to $20, we get 3b to $65 from player we respect. We fold. We lose $20.
10d8d hj C $15 r, nit otb 3b, fold (-15)
Which translates into 10d8d in hj (by now you are all getting it) call a $15 raise, a NIT on the button 3bets to $85, we fold. We lose $15.
4s2s bb 3b $15 open, 2c, $65, all fold. (+45)
Which translates into 4s2s in the bb, A rec reg makes a pot sweetener $15 open, 2 callers by the time it gets to us, we 3bet to $65, all fold. We win $45.
QJ mp2 straddle pot, l/f to raise. (-10)
l/f= limp fold.
99 otb 4l r $35, all fold. (25)
KJ co 2l r $25, all fold. (15)
AdQd utg r $20 , 4c (130)
We make an advanced play here.
Flop 4s 2s 4c, we check, player we respect checks, guy otb takes a $55 stab at it, small blind/big blind fold out. We raise to $200 and rep and overpair. Folds around to guy otb who folds out his 77. He said he folded QQ. But, player next to him told me he folded 77. So, there you see guy was sure I had AA or KK on that play and was telling me he folded QQ to try and get me to show my AA or KK even though he had 77.
KJ otb 4l r $30, 3call, give up. (-30)
Kc9c hj r $20, all fold. (7)
AQ utg2 r $20 4c, give up. (-20)
A7 bb, 5l, r $40, all fold. (25)
QQ mp2 r $20, sb 3b $75, call. (-265)
6c8c8d flop.
He bets $65. Call.
Turn blank. $125. Call.
River is A clubs. He bets $250 quickly. Fold. We lose $265.
66 utg l/c $25 (-25)
10d8d co limp 6way (-5)
KQ mp 1l r$40, Straddle Pot, all fold. (+25)
Ah5h mp1 l/f straddle pot (-10)
5d6d mp2 1L R$25, 2c, cbet A 2 3 rainbow flop and take it down.(+55)
At this point of the game the player I respected (who was impersonating a police officer) had already beat on the two fish (one ended up coming later) like they were young black mails, hog tied them, and through them in the back of his trunk where he was no doubt going to kill them, their bankrolls, and have their heads mantled after he took their bodies to the local taxidermist.
So, the game just sort of died and I was dead tired.
I racked up and left.
But, the above is how I plan to chart a lot of my cash game action that's upcoming at the WSOP and if I can get an established tournament player or two to help train the bull I am more than willing to chart the hands I play in tournaments.

I probably am not blessed with the most talent. But, I assure you I want this more than most. This WSOP tournament series run is going to be the last time I ask for backers funds for a long time. Thanks to all you guys for giving me another crack at this. Hoping I can reward your faith with more than just blogs this time around.
