Not sure if you guys have heard about all the madness here in Cannes. There was a 5 million guarantee on the main event which was short about a little over 700k euro and the casino started taking down advertisements on their webpages that had the guarantee listed. The owner decided to show up today and had this to say about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLseJtaFWsc

He also had a french version of this speech that had about 5x more content that included him basically saying all this happened because the young players are complaining all over the internet and have huge egos and aren't even at the making the final tables and they think they are special etc etc.

Long story short me and a ton of other regs are all boycotting this 25k highroller and i dont expect it gets over 30 players (i could be wrong but either way this has been a slap in the face no way i am playing it)

I am considering playing WPT paris next week which is a re entry 7500 euro event. I figure i would just substitute the 25.5k euro highroller with the 15k euro worth of buy ins for WPT paris. This is without question a better deal for investors since wpt paris main event will certainly be a higher ROI event than the cannes highroller.

I am not sure what the exact etiquette would be for this situation as i know some investors may or may not see this. Do you guys think its okay for me to just make this change and assume everyone will be okay with it since its clearly a better deal for investors or do you guys think i should message people individually asking if they are okay and approve of the switch? Of course whatever is left over after paris i will refund or can add future events to it whatever people desire doesnt make much of a difference to me but i figure anything i substitute it with will be better value anyways so most people would not mind. Thoughts?

i think you should do your best to message investors and go from there. pretty sure any investor would be more than happy with the switch

1. Post your desire to substitute in this thread, asking for objections (done). 2. PM investors stating same. 3. Tweet same. If someone objects strongly you can refund their pct of the package for that event (the high-roller). If most investors object it's probably best to cancel that event or play it on your own, refunding the whole buyin to everyone, but I can't see anyone objecting. Whatever you decide make sure you post what you're going here before the event.

As for me I'm ok with whatever you decide is most +ev.

I bought 1% and I will go with the WPT Paris. As an investor if it is a better deal I am down. We still have money coming back because of 10k Euro worth of refunds. I think it is a perfect sub.

Yea it is safest to make sure everybody is OK with it, just to prevent any disagreements down the line. Personally, I'm very cool with that swap. I also think you should try to keep the investors relatively up to speed on all the buyins/cashes as the tourney package goes on.

Cool thanks for the feedback guys. I went ahead and sent everyone a message about the adjustment in the schedule. Since everyone has said yes so far im just going to go ahead and make the change in the schedule for everyone substituting the Partouche cannes 25.5k euro highroller with the WPT 7.5k euro re entry on day1b.

Anyone has the right to object and take the full refund for the 25.5k euro event instead. So far no one has done so and there are only a few more people i havent gotten a PM back from. If anyone sends me a message saying they don't want the change in schedule I will go ahead and post their names on this thread or they can do so themselves.

1) You can play tournaments outside of this package.
2) You can separately sell action to those events.

The situation is pretty equivalent to selling action to a separate event. The refund is a bit of a red herring. I think getting confirmation from each individual buyer is the best course of action. Whether WPT Paris is a better value is debatable. It probably is. But any of your buyers can come in and disagree. Moreover, buyers might have objections unrelated to value. If a buyer doesn't confirm by a certain deadline, he's not booked for WPT Paris. Decide whether you want to play WPT Paris based on what % is confirmed.

I played and busted both the main and the 3k in cannes and the 25k highroller i skipped (it only got 8 players due to every1 boycotting it)

The reason i was not able to tweet that i busted the 3k was because it was the morning the owner gave his scarface like speech saying " F* u guys and your guarantee" He complained about the young players tweeting and making his companies name look bad. Ironically all 3 of the wifi passwords were also changed that morning lol. I assume he did not want us tweeting about what all had happened that morning.

im playing wpt paris regardless of what % of it is sold etc. okay just to avoid any sticky situations Im only going to count the people who responded. which is almost every1 at this point. Sunday night I will make another post clearly stating who has my WPT paris action and who doesnt.

I have a hard time thinking anyone is gonna be upset at you for swapping out a tiny highroller filled with mostly good players for a big main event filled with mostly fish, and it's also only a small portion of the package.

I (obviously) approve of my share in that being swapped. I think whatever you choose to do with people's shares who don't respond is fine as long as you are very clear and post everything explicitly before the tourney starts
