yeah but due to having been paid out by bank account and the difficulties i've had moving money around i haven't been able to pay everyone out yet.

wazz - you seemed quite cool and in touch with the poker world when we met, but this seems reaaaaally weird to me. it's a TON of money!!!!! imo it should be your highest priority to distribute the funds to shareholders. i know i couldn't sleep at night if i had a 90k IOU made out to 1 guy, plus others. neither could i sleep if there was a 90k IOU made out to me. there's a totally non-negligible chance of ANY particular human being on this planet dieing over the stretch of a few months due to accident, etc, and i'd imagine that it might be a ridiculous pain for them to collect if you died of dysentery in peru or something. that surprise x factor is not fair to your investors.

that said, you seem to be making steps and being up front about everything. just shake a leg. from my limited experience, i feel that people would like to be paid asap.

Obviously isn't directly relevant to me at all, but am a bit curious about what the current hold up is? Obviously online site transfer limits could be a pain, but you could have set up a € bank account to put the money in, see what currency people want their share in, exchange appropriately (oanda.com very little vig - <0.5%), make a USD bank account if neccessary and write cheques/do bank transfers to those all for 0.5% vig, 0% if they make their own euro account! And you could even get a Citibank account and set up the USD and EUR accounts with the same online login! I have no idea what you've been trying to do, but it seems like a ludicrously simple process to me, with all due respect.

seems like that 9k should have went to pay people off first. using that money to buy shares of people is pretty poor form. oh, and you saying that "hey, i bought those shares with my own money" really carries no weight at all. when you have a debt out there, your first and only priority is to pay that off. using money for anything else just shouldnt be done.

when i was presented with the cheque back on april 20th, i believe, i was a bit dazed at having just won 6 figures, and failed to ask if i could get it transferred to my bank account. mistake no 1.

i went directly from san remo to paris, where i had a pre-planned holiday with my brother. i couldn't open an account with a new bank there as i didn't have any paperwork like utility statements, so i had to wait until i got back to london, as i couldn't find a natwest in paris and barclays wouldn't let me deposit the cheque, because they are not as international as they would like to appear.

as soon as i got to london, i took lipo fund up on his offer to go to peru for 3 weeks before wsop started, to do macchu picchu and lapt lima. mistake no 2 - i now realize that staying at home and sorting the money out should have been a priority.

i had only 2 weeks before i left for peru, and was told that the cheque would take more than a month to clear, so i set up a € bank account, spoke to a billion different people at both stars and the casino san remo, going through approximately £150 in international phone call charges, dealing with complete idiots, most of whom didn't speak english, until i finally got through to someone who said he would get the money transferred to my € account if i mailed them the cheque. which i did and got the money before i went to peru.

next mistake was paying out people according to how often and loudly they complained, which meant pofigistka got the money first.

my next mistake was not having it confirmed exactly how much i could transfer over to vegas, how long it would take, and what i would be charged for it. the intention was to transfer over $200k, enough for my own tournaments, to pay out the investors who would be out there, and sell the rest for money online so that i could pay out those people who weren't physically going to be there. it didn't quite work out that way, due to various people at barclays giving me bad information and making false promises, and the result is that i had to borrow money from other people just to play my own events. i eventually got enough money to pay off some of the debt from the investment, and all of the debt (apart from Kevin Macphee who I still owe $10k, he wants that in £ in london though) that i borrowed from other people - $5k each from gavz101, rsmig and michael binger.

since then, i've spoken to ALL of the investors and squared it with them. of course, they have all said that they would have preferred the money quicker, but that they don't mind having to wait. some of them will need € at epts or £ in london. blopp is a good friend and has told me to pay him when convenient.

zima, in regards to your last post, are you really suggesting i don't spend any money whatsoever until i've paid off everything?

some of these things have been out of my control. some of these things i've messed up myself. in some regards i've been lazy. however, i've been in regular contact with all the people i owe money to, letting them know the situation, and they've all said they're happy to wait. it's quite telling that none of them are in this thread, complaining about the fact they haven't had their money yet.

1. i think that's ridiculous, for a number of reasons. aside from swapping action in the main, i did all my investing for this world series publicly over the 2p2 marketplace when i was under no obligation to do so, given i had the option of doing it privately, and this line of argument suggests that i shouldn't even be playing poker until i pay off all my debts.

you handled this situation about as bad as possible after you hit your score.

i don't 100% disagree. however, this was an entirely new situation for me, not having dealt with these sums of money before, i was hampered by not being paid out online, and screwed over by my bank. i have also made a big effort to keep all my investors informed of the situation. i appreciate and respect your motives in wanting to bring this to everyones attention, but please cut me some slack.
