As this is my first time getting staked for an event, I am not sure how this taxes part works. Can someone who has done this before, please let us know how this works, taxes wise, for both someone who lives outside of the USA, and someone who lives in the USA, should i make the money in the WSOP Main Event. (I am a NJ resident, but some people buying pieces live overseas, while many others live in the US). As I have more time in the next week or two, I will look into it, but if somebody would please gives us noobs a quick rundown of how taxes would work. Thanks

Thanks raradevils I will look into it, within a week or two. And @ hashy, I will be more than happy to write my checks for 8 million, knowing I have $2 million and a world championship, and a $500,000 gold bracelet. Without staking I would not be playing a $10,000 buyin, so its a pretty easy decision: Sell pieces of myself, play main, or not sell pieces and have 0% chance of $2 million. Pretty easy decision. Will be more than happy to write those checks with lots of zeros in them!

I just won the Ultimate Poker $5k Guaranteed 7:30pm (Ultimate Poker NJ's biggest nightly tournament) tonight for $1,550 (Finished 1st of 68 players) and I just won the Ultimate Poker 10pm tourney for $200 (Finished 1st of 31 players), and made a run in the 888 $3,000 Super Status Freeroll, finished 40th out of 544 players after losing a 54,000 chip pot 77 vs QJ allin pre for the chip lead with 40 left. Not to mention one other final table in the Ultimate Poker 630pm tourn for a $100 ticket, a 4th place finish in the 888 915pm tourn, and a 4th place finish in the 888 1030pm tourn, all this while mass multitabling. So thanks for your hate, it just fuels me to keep winning and keep proving the haters wrong.

I don't understand what you even have against me, did I give you a bad beat or something, it's just ridiculous. All your posts in this thread are negative, and I don't even understand why you post in this thread anymore. There's a reason why I sold out within 48 hours after my initial post, and have a growing alternate list. I have been a full time pro for almost six years, have beaten three forms of NL Holdem (Heads Up Sitngos, Live Cash Games, and now tournaments for the past 4.5 months). I'm selling at zero markup for this first WSOP Main Event, and I am a five year well respected poster on the forum. It's an obvious +EV investment, and people who are smart, jumped on the investment, hence I sold out lightning quick.

You obv have something against me, and tbh its like whatever. My results and career longevity speak for themselves. You can ask any NJ regular mtt player, as to what they think of my game, and I guarantee you 98% of them will say great. Obv there's gonna be trolls and haters like you. If you don't want to invest, fine, but don't come in here to try to diminish me. We'll all make sure to think of you when were holding 10 million dollars as a group in November

I have no idea what is up with hashy, my guess is that he's dumped to Brilliant and has a bug up his ass about it. I don't remember playing a live tourney with Brilliant before, but I've played cash with him numerous times at Borgata and probably played hundreds of MTT's with him since online came to NJ. I wish I wasn't late to the thread, obviously anything can happen in one tourney, but this is clearly a +EV stake.
