Brilliant27’s 2014 WSOP Main Event with Zero Markup
Hi everyone, I’m Brilliant27, real name Eric Steinberg, and I’m selling 80% of my 2014 $10,000 WSOP Main Event with zero markup
Background:
I started playing poker professionally on July 17, 2008, after I quit my accounting job at ARAMARK. From July 17, 2008 to April 15, 2011, for 2.75 years, I played exclusively Heads Up SitnGos on Full Tilt Poker as Brilliant27. I started at the $20 level, and moved my way up, through the years, to where I was just getting into the $200 and $300 level on the day that Black Friday hit. I played over 13,000 Heads Up SitnGos during this time, mostly reg speed and deepstacks. Played 6 days a week, every week, about 5-7 hrs a day. I made heads up sitngo training videos for husng.com, the #1 heads up sitngo training site in the world, and had several students whom I coached in exclusively heads up sitngos. I became a very well known heads up sitngo player, and one of the most respected members of the heads up sitngo community on twoplustwo.
April 15, 2011, Black Friday happens, and a vast majority of my bankroll gets tied up on Full Tilt Poker. I decided to grind live poker, 2/5nl Holdem, on April 16th 2011, the day after Black Friday. From April 16th 2011 to Oct 29, 2012, for approx 1.5 years, I grinded 2/5nl Holdem, mostly at Borgata, and a little at Parx. I played 6 days a week, about 6 hours a day, and pretty much everyone at Borgata and Parx knows me as the ultimate grinder. I grinded my a** off.
On Oct 29th, 2012, I decided to move to Vegas because Nevada became the first state to legalize online poker, and I wanted to play online again, in a fully legal environment. When I moved there, WSOP and Ultimate Poker had delays in opening, and thus I continued my live poker grind. I played mostly at Venetian and Wynn, 2/5nl and a little 5/10nl, six days a week, every week, until Nov 18th, 2013. Vegas online poker ended up being horrible, the playerpool was wayyy too small, so I grinded live poker my entire year in Vegas. I then decided to move to NJ, because NJ was starting online poker on November 26, 2013. It was time to play online again!
After grinding some live pokerz for a few weeks after I moved back to NJ, I started playing online December 1, 2013. Since heads up sngs were dead in NJ, and I was sick of cash games after grinding live cash games for years, I decided to become a tournament pro. Since Dec 1, 2013, it has been going incredible. I have logged just over 3300 tournaments on NJ sites in the past 4.5 months. Anyone who grinds tournaments in NJ knows me, as I have played 6 days a week, every week, for the past four months online. I am Brilliant27 on WSOP and Ultimate Poker. I’m YouPayMyRent on Party Poker and 888 poker. I am a well respected poster in the NJ online poker forum in the internet poker subsection of twoplustwo.
Key results:
I won the WSOP 9pm $10 rebuy three times (WSOP’s featured “primetime” nightly tournament in NJ)
Dec 2nd: Finished 1 of 179 players for $1,350
Jan 14th: Finished 1 of 160 players for $1,350
Mar 13th: Finished 1 of 184 players for $1,422.90
I could verify these results by contacting WSOP’s customer support if any investor needs official confirmation.
I have crushed the Ultimate Poker nightly 5k $50 tournament (Ultimate Poker NJ’s biggest nightly tournament). As of April 21st, I have played it 98 times so far, cashed in it 22 times, have two second place finishes, five third place finishes, three fourth place finishes, and have final tabled it 21 times. Recently, to start the month of April, I final tabled this tournament on four consecutive nights, April 1st-4th, which was a pretty sick run. I have a 112% roi in this tournament so far. I can also contact Ultimate Poker to get official confirmation of these results, if any investor desires them.
I was also the only person in NJ to win Ultimate Poker’s special “Holiday Thousandaire” Tournament twice. This was a special tournament that Ultimate Poker ran in December, once a night, for a few weeks. On Dec 22, 2013, I finished 1st out of 148 players to win my first Holiday Thousandaire Tournament for $1,000.86. Less than a week later, on Dec 27th, I finished 1st out of 146 players for $1,000.79. So within a six day period, I managed to win that tournament two times.
Also, I finished in the Top 6 in all four weekly WSOP tournament leaderboards in January, out of 100 ranked players. And recently, for the March Turbo Series Leaderboard on WSOP, I also finished 6th out of 100 ranked players.
Overall, I have been crushing tournaments in NJ for the past four months. I have put in high volume, and my tournament game is excellent. I have many players that I play with, on a nightly basis, who can confirm my tournament abilities. Obviously I would be +ev in the WSOP Main event field.
My years of experience playing live cash games, helps me a ton in the early stages of tournaments, where we have tons of big blinds, and my deepstack poker experience shines. My years of heads up sitngo experience helps me immensely at final tables, especially when we get shorthanded, and I have a big edge against most players when I get heads up for titles. Quite frankly, I am extremely happy with my tournament game currently, and I continue to study and improve. By the time the Main Event starts in July, I will have approximately 5,000 tournaments under my belt in NJ. (3300 played so far, plus approximately 1700 more for the remaining months of April, May, and June.) I will be completely ready for the Main Event. Playing poker professionally the past six years has been a great experience, and I am fully prepared to be the 2014 World Champion
I will hire some of the greatest minds in the poker world, to be part of my team, to prepare me for the November nine. I will prepare better than anyone once I make the November 9, I will study the hardest, and I will have intense focus at the final table. Anyone who knows me, knows the dedication that I will put into this tournament. I am a true grinder, and it’s time for it all to pay off.
I am selling 80% of my main event, keeping 20% for myself. $100 gets you 1%, $500 gets you 5%, etc etc. I am going to give this to friends first, then I will open it up to the twoplustwo forum.
Why I am going for zero markup?
Since this will be my first WSOP 10k Main Event, I have decided that it would be best to sell %’s of myself at zero markup. Next year, for the 2015 Main Event, and beyond, I will be selling at a markup, but since this is my first year playing the Main, I shall sell at zero markup.
I will be sending a personalized notarized letter to each investor, stating his or her % in my 2014 WSOP $10,000 Main Event. I will also send a picture of my plane tickets, hotel receipts, starting stack, Main Event slip, etc, to each investor. And I will also update each investor after every level, or however often they choose to receive updates. I plan on winning and becoming World Champion, so each investor will be responsible for their portion of the taxes.
