I hadn't even run that well to this point. In fact a dealer error cost me a big pot when he exposed my card that would have binked me and instead I was dealt a brick.

But now the schoolboy error I made that effectively cost me my tournament......

I lost half of my 38k stack in a pot where I thought we were playing Stud Hi Lo but in fact we were playing Stud Hi.

The game plaques were marked as 7 Hi Lo for Stud Hi Lo and Stud 7 for Stud Hi. I am used to seeing plaques that say Stud for Stud Hi and Stud 8 or Stud Hi Lo for Hi Lo.

So seeing the 7 on Stud 7 had me thinking that it was hi Lo all thru the hand. I knew he had a big pair underneath and I had the "low" locked up and was drawing to a gutshot and had paired my Ace. Because I played the hand so aggressively he was puke calling/check calling on every street. He wasn't happy calling my bet on 7th either with his Queens up. I had two Aces showing so as it happens. I was very live on 7th.

This.hand crippled my stack down to 16k. I.was annoyed at myself but not tilted. But blinds and antes ate quite big now so my stack has very little wiggle room. I went card dead and drifted down to 11k in level 14 with 20 runners left and the average at 31k. I managed to get it AIP HU with 7k of extra dead money with AA68ss against another short stack's A236ss but he scooped me.

P.S. ACF is a horrible venue to play poker at. I wil elaborate on why when I return to England.

I think the main thing at this stage is that you pick yourself up and move on with a positive attitude to the next game. You are capable of achieving great things in this package - so retain that belief and you may well go far.

Thanks Giff and BD. It was a painful way to not cash, especially after putting in so much effort with the travelling and playing for 6 hours in a foreign poker room.

I am positive for the rest of the package but even if I bink one of the PLOs I will still be annoyed at what I did to myself in the H.O.R.S.E.

Don't worry about it! As BackingDonk said, it happens to us all! There's nothing you can do about it now so to let it affect your future tourneys is not optimal. I know you and you will atwin. Focus on that!!!

Busted about 30th of 45 in the €50 R PLO sat. Start stack was 1500 but I could see value at the table so I made an instant double rebuy. I got my stack up to 12k by level 2 and was chip leader. Then couldn't win a pot in the next two levels so at the end of the level 4 rebuy period I had 9k. I took the 3k add on chips for €50 so had 12k again, ave was 9k.

Most pots were going multi way and I think I made the error of peeling 2 or 3 times for 400 chips each time when because it was a sat (8 seats awarded) I should have been more TAG/laddered more. So my stack with lost blinds too is down to 10k. I then got involved in two pots both if which were flips on the flop and lost 5k in each so was out.

I can't say I played my best game today in the sat because I didn't. The peeling in the middle part of the comp was an error by me and poor discipline and I apologise to you as backers for doing it. It didn't cost me the seat as such, but it was not optimal.

I bought in for the €1k PLO straight after busting the sat and then sat in the 5/10 PLO cash game with €500 and two €500 bullets in reserve. It is of no monetary consolation to you as backers and could be seen maybe as a minor bad beat, but I stood up from that cash game with .€2300 two hours later having only bought in for the one €500 and having paid the astronomical table charge of €40 per hour!

I had a long and friendly chat with Joe Beevers while we were wating for 5/10 seating and I think he was impressed in the game when I check snapped called a £400 river bet when I worked out that the villain was repping a higher straight than mine when I knew after the turn action that he had a set. After I stood up Joe and I tried to get a €2/€4 DC game started but the list didn't build enough.
