2023 WSOP Main Event
Wednesday July 5th Day 1C
Hi everyone,
Selling 65% of my main event action.
I just turned 40 (yay), but started playing poker in various casinos and rooms at the age 18; 5 card and 7 card stud.
Then in early 2000s transitioned to more Limit and NLH games. I mostly play cash games (5/10nl & 10/25nl),
but most summers do venture out to play the bracelet WSOP tournaments in Vegas.
Note: I took some summers off from tournaments; 2010-2013 and 2020-2022 (covid and started a family) as my Hendon mob reflects those gaps in tournament play.
In the years I went out to vegas for WSOP,
I've played 20 wsop bracelet events and cashed in 11 of them
The last 3x wsop events I played, I cashed in 2 of the 3.
The one I did not cash, was the main event. I busted Day 3 a level before the money. My play was extremely solid whole time against top aggro pros for days. Variance on day 3 just caught up to me and couldn't spin anything back up. Nothing dramatic, just didn't happen. Won most showdowns and the couple allins had our money in good every time
For the main, I will prior and during be coached by a couple different pros who are previous wsop bracelet / wpt winners. Assisting my game for the long & middle stretch of this tournament. The main event structure is perfect for my type of play and I am feeling highly confident for a +ev run!
Fun fact, it technically returning to the Horseshoe makes a full circle for me; my first wsop encounter was back in 2004, the last year at the original horseshoe downtown. So I'm extra excited and enticed for this one!
