WSOPC New Orleans, $400 Event #2 Sunday Restart. Started day with 67 players and now down to 13. Playing for $68k up top

V: MAAG wearing LV sunglasses and a fake Versace shirt and sh*t (not even joking). Was moved to my immediate right earlier for about 2.5 orbits. No real reads but was pretty active and seemed splashy just based on his look. Raised his BTN twice when folded to him. Hadn't seen a hand yet

H: Good image with all the other players. Cashed high in both Events #1 & #3 and playing with mostly same group. Started day with ~$350k chips and have chipped up showing down top pair hands and picking good spots

I just got moved to V's table to balance out the 2 tables after a bust out. Have played one orbit when this hand comes up

OTTH:

Ave stack around $1.2M. Blinds at 4000/12500/25000

All fold to the V on the BTN. He jams ai for $425k. SB folds
H: BB ~1.1M with QdJd, Hero?

V is getting short and seems like his opening range could be very wide. I'm not really dead to any hands except exactly JJ-QQ. Even if he has two overs I'm about 35/65, I think. Would I be calling too wide and maybe just wait for a better spot?

Thoughts?

Yeah this should be a snap fold. V shoves for 17 bb's bvb and we have Q high. We're a dog against loads of his range and do we think he's shoving QT here? He can limp lots of hands you might be ahead of so you're basically calling from behind every single time. QJ suited is pretty but this is math. You're punting if you call.

BvB = BTN vs Blind or do you mean Blind vs Blind?

If it makes a difference, V was BTN and I was BB

This is pretty close but I fold. SnapShove says the bottom of our calling range (without ICM) is QTs/JTs. My gut is that villain--even though as described he sounds aggressive-- is not shoving the stone bottom of his SnapShove range (stuff like K4s, J7s, QTo), and even if he did, we'd want to fold the bottom of our suggested calling range because of ICM. I think I snap him with KQs, think it over but probably call KJs, fold QJs.

LOL this was my thought exactly! Played with Scotty before and he's not that loose in the button to make this a call.

So, I call the BB and V shows A10ss....we brick out and V gives the "YEEESSSSSSS" and a fist pump.

An orbit later, V raise upfront and i flat with 66. Flop comes 642r. V bets and I flat. Turns A, V jams and I snap. He rolls over AA......busto.......gg

Moral of the story is that no one can beat Scotty Nguyen, baby and Johnny F'ing Chan

Thanks for the input guys!
