72k stack with blinds 2,000-4,000 w 4,000 bb ante. Chance Kornuth was the most aggressive opener at the table and I had shipped twice in the prior 2 orbits and he had folded pretty quickly.

Chance had approx 100k and button had us covered(around 200 k or so).

Chance opened to 8k, button called and I looked down at A6 offsuit in the small blind. Decided to ship since Chance had been opening so wide and didn’t perceive button could have much. Thoughts? Too spewy/risky?

I feel A6o is a little too light with 18bbs. Think this is just a fold pre. Meh he shouldn’t be opening too wide on a 25bb stack unless from lp. I would be a little less likely to jam when button flats.

18bbs in the main, I think we can wait and find a much better spot.

Chance was opening from CO? He shouldn't be opening that light on the bubble with a short stack and a bigger stack to act. Seems like an easy fold. I would be more likely to shove over a big stack open. If some big stack is opening like 40%, you can shove over him light. I guess this was a bust out hand.

I would seriously consider folding ATo in this spot, I don't think A6o is even close. Fold equity is the goal and you already have 2 people interested in the pot.

I am not sure how close to the bubble this is, but there must be big ICM issues involved, as your stack is worth about the same as the mincash. It might be good to ship over a big stack who is opening extremely wide. You mention that you shipped twice over this guy's opens in the last 2 orbits, so he might not be opening so light, and might be inclined to call you.

He had been limping a lot of suited connectors so thought his range was wide enough to shove and get a fold but Chance had owned him in a couple of pots so should have taken into consideration that he might have been limping some stronger hands in position versus Chance's open. 2 hearts on flop and another on river and that was it for my Main Event.

Several suited hands are jams before A6o. It’s not like if you want to widen you look for any ace.

There are situations ITM or on the bubble where a big stack is raising almost every hand in late position and you need to shove Axo and most suited gappers. Or you might shove it over a button raise.

Here there are major ICM issues, you are against reasonably strong ranges, and I would squeeze tight. I agree with the other poster that ATo is probably a fold.

Putting max pressure in the bubble is from big stacks to short stacks.... Not viceversa...

Sometimes you can play back at big stacks raising every hand or whatever.

Easy fold with the button involved. I see how you would want to shove wide vs chance but you’re in pretty bad shape when called by either player. If you’ve made this play a few times in recent hands they will probably assume you’re shoving fairly wide
