Hero has 63,500 chips. Arrived at the table with like 78,000 a little more than 2 hours earlier. Blinds are 600/1200 with 1200 BB ante

There are 3 players who have been 3-betting a lot (at least 5 times each). Villain is one of them. He has over 150,000 in chips and has turned over JTs as one of his 3-bets when he won a huge pot on a J high board vs 99 who made the final river bet. Mostly people have folded to his 3-bets.

Folds to Michigan guy in LJ who raises to 3,000. He has been raising a lot so his range is very wide. Folds to villain OTB who 3-bets to 8,900. SB folds. Hero is in the BB with JJ.

Not sure I have ever played JJ correctly. It is the one hand I got screwed with in Day 1 when I called a raise OTB by tightish UTG+1 who was possibly best player at the table and relatively short stacked so would've gone all in with QQ+/AK forcing me to call and GTO guy to my left in SB 3-bet with KTs, UTG+1 folded I called and lost relatively big pot when K hit the flop and he bet small, checked the Q turn, and bet like 20% pot on river.

Anyway, on to the hand. Without giving it too much thought, Hero jams. I have never jammed 50+ bb's pre-flop before on a 4-bet like this. But here I am feeling that this is a very tough table, I am slowly losing ground, I am viewed as very tight, have not played a hand in over half an hour (except from the BB). The only other 4-bet at the table resulted in the 3-bettor folding. Calling seemed like a really bad option because it would invite LJ in with hands like KQ. I actually didn't consider a click it back 4-bet of say 16,000 (which would have preceded a flop jam if no A on the flop assuming villain calls). Folding didn't cross my mind because of the wide range of the 3-bettor and because I thought there was a decent chance everybody would fold to a jam and I would gain 15,000 in chips.

Curious if what I did was -EV or +EV. At the time I thought it was slightly +EV but I would have done it even if it was slightly -EV.

Hi mate, glgl would love to be there, very jealous

Given the dynamic I’d say all V are playing something like GTO 100bb cash open/3! ranges. JTs fits into that 3! range and it’s not OOL.

Not surprised you got a little frustrated playing in that company, especially if the hands aren’t coming your way.

My first reaction was to fold this. It’s your entire mtt on the line and neither opponent is capped. Calling is ugly and 2.5x 4! is dropping a 1/3 of your stack in pre.

That said, I’d expect a shove to be +ev and if you went with it, all good.

No chance it's -EV to shove here. Can't flat, 4-betting doesn't really make sense. I would do this with TT+, AK maybe AQo as a bluff sometimes. WP

I think 52 bbs is a little too much to jam. However, you said table was aggressive so maybe piling is fine here. You gotta think button can be fairly wide here.

I think I like min clicking it to like 19500-20500. If action gets insane like lj rips and button calls, we can happily fold. Wanna see what others say here, maybe 4betting this is bad bc it puts a big % of our stack in. I think 4betting to a small amount is smart here bc it kinda protects our hand and doesn’t allow for lj to come along light. Maybe jam is good but I think it’s kinda a Blunder if villians pick up ak+ qq+.

I just feel 52bbs- if we jam. Villains should be calling a really tigfht range so you are kinda giving them an out to fold pre when they are beat.

Push seems best. The pot is big enough you will be happy to pick it up. That seems like the most profitable play. I would never fold so far enough of their ranges 4!/gii and flat call should both be better than folding. I would 4!/gii with QQ+ or KK + and some bluffs (usually quality hands you cannot call with) and shove JJ/AK and maybe TT or QQ.

Seems good given your analysis of the preflop dynamics and these particular players.

I appreciate the responses.

After my shove, LJ folded and BTN tanked for over a minute. Could have been over 2 minutes. I felt relieved and a little worried during the tank which I was grateful for because it meant I wasn't reacting in either direction. I was thinking he could have AK/AQ/QQ/TT in that order. I think he calls a lot with QQ (so not as much tanking) and folds a lot with TT. AQ would still be a mystery but I think he would fold more often than call.

BTN ended up calling with AKo.

The A came on the turn which is pretty much my experience in all of the tourneys I played in Vegas. And amazingly it gave me a flush draw in hearts and a gutter. But before I even realized that, the river was an unspeakably bad black card.

All in all I am glad I shoved there. I know I needed to get lucky on my flips and this was my first. But I think BTN could have been quite wide and folded and I needed some sign that things could go right.
