£47 buy in; 2k/4k/500

10 people left, 4 till the money. Avg stack about 48k

Hero sitting on 65k ish
Villain sitting on 150k ish

Hero SB has JJ

Villain UTG raises to 12k

Folded round; hero 3bet 30k

Villain calls

Flop: QJ4

Hero all in

Villain thinks for about 5 minutes and calls; turns over 1010

Would you say thats a bad all in. My thought process was, only had 30k left, if villain had shoved it would put me in an awkward spot where I would probably fold and be left with less than 10BB. I was trying to fold out AKs-A10s (not clubs) and any medium pocket pairs without a club

What would you guys say?

AIPF every time.

Why do you want to fold out worse hands?

You think AIPF is a better play? Would you call with 10s in this sport?

I'll be honest with you, I have no idea. What I should of done is try fold out pocket pairs with clubs right?

Are you all at the final table, or are there two tables of 5?.

It's just a standard 3bet shove with ~16 bigs. There is no need for any post flop play.

I think the 3x open by villain is also an indication of relative weakness. (Unless he does that as standard or is trying to abuse the bubble)

I'd weight him towards AK, AQ, 88-JJ and abusing the bubble with junk - which you crush. If he folds and you add nearly a 3rd of your stack, then that's a great result.

~£50 MTTs in the UK play like $2 rebuys or $5 MTTs online, so you don't need to worry about people outplaying you for the most part.

He had been 3x opening for quite a while, I do agree though looking back at it a shove would've been much better against his range. But mind you, he was surely going to call either way no?

I'm sure you can guess how it panned out lol.

The stack sizes dictate that he probably would call anyway, but I think he's capped when he 3x's so you're pretty much never worse than flipping.

Try not to worry about the bubble or bad beat in isolation.

Let me wish you the best of luck in your next live MTT's!

Everyone is saying to ship is pre but honestly your 3 bet looks super strong as it was played and does not look like any sort of bluff. But as is with table sizing and everything else, I dont think most people will lay 10s down either way pre in this spot, in this type of tournament but his call on the flop was pretty loose.

So basically, yeah you are going to be getting it all in with Js here, folding would be really bad.

Here's how terrible folding the flop would be. If villain shoved and then showed you a made flush, it's still a call for pot odds. The only hand that crushes you is QQ.

def ship pre if you would actually fold JJ on QJ4 with less than 10 bigs left. Folding flop would be beyond abysmal.

even without that, is still a ship pre.
