As the title says, it is a $350 buy in with multiple starting days, down to final 8 of 911 entrants. First is 49K, current payout is 5.9K. Next payout is 6.8K.

Average Stack: 3.375M
Blinds: 50K/100K/100K bb ante
Seat 1: 1.7M
Seat 2: ~6M
Seat 3: ~6M
Seat 4: 2M
Seat 5: 2.5M
Seat 6: 4M
Seat 7 (Hero): 1.9M
Seat 8: 3.5M

I am BB with 100K ante and 100K BB, so 1.7M behind. Folds to Seat 4 in the cutoff who opens to 230K, button and SB fold. I have ThTs in bb. Is this just a trivial jam? Should I be 3 bet calling?

Not trivial, but shoving has to be the best option. I think you have max FE now so not a good spot for a stop-n-go and you apply max pressure by shoving. For you, there really are not any ICM considerations as you are essentially the short stack here & you have a premium hand.

GL AI.

17 big blinds, a raise from the cutoff, TT in BB = shove.

OK, I jammed, he had QQ, gg me.

Obviously TT in bb vs cutoff open and 17bb behind I am totally fine with the play, but as someone who rarely plays tournaments I wasn't sure if there was any real reason to do anything else due to ICM. Granted I am short, so I don't have the ICM pressure of the middling stacks, but I still assume my stack has a value of greater than 5.9K, just don't know what that value is and whether or not that would change my best line of action.

The last two tournaments I've played in, I busted on the first hand of the final table with AK. I wouldn't play those hands any differently.

Nah, no real ICM considerations as a short stack. What was your option, wait for seat 1 to play a hand?

In big blind, heads up, it's any easy shove.

I don't think you fully understand ICM. After posting, YOU are the short stack (technically tied, but close enough.) you cannot lose any eV as you are = to the last prize paid here. ICM now works in your favor as you have no where to go but up. Hint: you should be shoving way wider than T-T here

Rip it in. You have what, 19bbs and are basically short stack. I think I would only 3bet QQ/kk/aa here (which might not even be correct bc we prolly should jam these also to have some top hands in jam range).

As play bad luck. Not much you can do here with 19bbs and 10-10.

I wish! Local cardroom 50-ish player tournaments. Only pays 5-6 places.
