You have little chance of improving, and the board is as wet as a swimming pool. You still have about 50 bbs, so no serious damage has been done to you. Fold.

You just got to the table, but you can still make a general read. "Male 25-35" probably spells aggression and someone who will defend their position raise pre, even if it's a blind steal. A 3bet here was ok and you might have to think about a jam if they 4bet, but in this situation since I close the action and will be OOP rest of the hand I might employ a little rope-a-dope. Smooth call then check-call as far as possible, all while managing pot size with what's still just AKo.

As to this situation, are they making a bold stab to take it away from you? Given that board and their range, probably not, but if it's a bluff with pocket 5s to grab a big pot so be it you're folding here.

The only thing I can beat at this point is a bluff. All draws get there, All 2 pairs get there, he smashes his 3b-calling range on the turn. Best case is V has AxQd, or complete air.
I hate that I forgot whether or not I had a diamond and checked my cards, which means any astute player will assume I likely don't have it.
I folded, and after observing this player further, it's very possible I folded the best hand. Oh well.

I used to employ this often as a reserve tell ... I'd check my cards when I knew I had it.

That said, I think as played, your fold was good.

I don't think you should be folding this. At least that is my initial reaction. What 2 pair are we putting the villain on? JT, AJ, AT? I am probably not folding in this spot. If this guy is calling preflop with any suited Ace, then he is definitely going to peel this flop with that small bet. I think I would just bomb the turn all-in. Put the pressure on this guy.

Absolutely JTs, AJs, ATs, especially since he is in position. Those are all in is 3b calling range-maybe you could remove AT. Also JJ and 99 are in his range, so overall he has a significant range advantage. Also, there is no pressure on him if he is a decent player, which based on his subsequent play he is, he has 1/2 his stack in the pot and is committed, so he is not folding.

I think given the stack depths you should size up your cbet. You don’t want to let flush draws just call, and you don’t want to give gut shots/pairs/etc chances to improve cheaply. There aren’t a lot of turn cards you’re going to like to see.
