This was last nights day one flight for the Almighty Stack ($1M gauranteed) at Borgata, $450 buy-in. The flight only got about 360 participants, way less than the day time one yesterday and almost 50% less than what today's got.
I was at a relatively crazy table, which included one person firing 4 bullets and continually getting sent back to our table, he was open shoving for 100-200 bb regularly and doing other wild stuff. As a result there were a few big stacks on the table. I was largely card dead but was able to run up to about 240k from a starting stack of 100k when this hand happened.
blinds are 2000-4000 with 4000 bb ante
I am in the lowjack with A
J
stacksize of 240k. It folds to me and I open for 11k, I tend to open less than 3x in tournaments for the most part.
Villain #1 is the afformentioned action player who was shoving a lot and making wild plays. He also talked incessantly about all of his money and demanded that we start "playing like men." He is in the cut off with around 90k. He flat calls.
Villain #2 is a younger guy, quiet and thoughtful. He has 3bet with position on a few hands before this and has not gone to showdown that I remember. He is on the button and has me covered. He 3bets to 44k.
Both blinds fold.
I have a bit of a quandry here as I do not like the idea of playing my hand out of position here and I have no idea what Villain #1 will do. I think a lot about folding here as I am near the bottom of my range for calling the 3bet and am out of position. I also think there is a good chance that if I flat that villain #1 will shove.
I tank for awhile but ultimately decide that the button's 3bet range could be pretty wide here and that he might be trying to play a pot with the cutoff who likes to give action. With this thought in mind I decide to 4bet. I think about various bet sizes before deciding to just shove, believing that the cutoff is capable of calling off light and not wanting to give the button a good price.
How is my thought process here?
