Hi there,

Sunday million, roughly 200 left, blinds 3.5k/7k. We have a healthy 60BB stack, average was about 30BB ish.

Just been moved to a new table so no info on anyone. We are dealt QQ in the cut off.

MP raises 16k, HJ 3 bets to 42k, we are next to act. MP and HJ both cover us. Whats our action and why?

Thanks

Cold call I would say readless.
You wont induce much w/o dynamics in milly vs competent.
Its marginally +ev if they jam JJ and -ev if they dont.

No info on oppos => dépends on the table dynamics but i think you could go both ways, cold call or 4bet to 100k with the intention to get it in.
Both have merits.
You being on the CO with that strong of a hand, you could cold call and see a flop in position because your stack size allow you to do so.
Therefore, you keep his whole range in and give him an opportunity to spasm.

On the other hand, 60biggs is quite on the border of the "enough to get it in pre".
It is not 100biggs and get it in pre wouldnt be a punt.

Wht did u do tho?

cold calling is just burning money, you're pricing the OR in and going to have no idea where you are on the flop so in most cases you'll call flop and sigh fold turn. In this scenario you mgiht as well have 8's.

make it 105k imo

Raise to 115k and call off a shove.

Thanks for all your feedback and opinions - I 4 bet to 109 and called it off, happy that this is the right move after listening to your feedback.

Obv sucks, but 4bet/c , just don´t see another option here?
If they fold, whatever, fine by me...

All things considered, cold calling might not be as +ev as 4betting is... Just 4b-c

I can see merits to both flatting and 4-betting, honestly. At a slightly smaller stack size I'd almost always 4-bet/gii, vs. tighter opponents (or with other dynamics) flatting pre makes more sense. Really don't think either option is appreciably worse than the other.

If we are cold calling here we should be cold calling with our entire playable range.

not necessarily bc MP shouldn`t and wouldn`t always go nuts trying to iso our "weak" cold-call range or at least we can`t state this villain is exactly this type.

Most of KK+ can still 4b/c safely but yes cold-colling some strong hands allows us to cold-call more playable hands.
We still can exploitatively have strong 4b/c range and weaker cold-call range which is exploitable but doesn`t mean we`ll always get exploited esp in similar SM spots.
Just seems a good spot (stacl size and posiiton wise) to widen our proceed range.

110k/c. Also, we have 420k. It's a sign.
