please let me know if this is standard play and I just got unlucky or how you would of played the hand, thank you!

8 handed

Hero 10 BBs, Villan has 14BBs

Villan is UTG and limps, I'm next UTG+1 and shove all-in.

I have AQo, he has A9s

Everyone folds back to him, and he thinks about it and then calls...

My intention is just to take the 2BBs and small right there and then, but i'm trying to survive and not take risk, the flop brings a 9 and i get knocked out.

So now I'm thinking maybe i just do a 2.5x raise just to push others out then he calls and i can evaluate on the flop.

thoughts?

Standard. Why would you raise AQo and leave the option of folding a flop on the table with a shallow stack of 14bbs? Just rip pre and hope you don’t run into AK/ qq+ . Not much you can do.

Lol at limping A9s utg with such a shallow stack.

2.5 raise may not push everyone else out preflop. Bad luck. WP.

my intention in that spot is to put my self in a position where I can win villian's stack.

I love getting it in with AQ vs A9. who gives a **** if you get knocked out or win the hand.
