I was only at this table for one orbit, so no reads. I would like a bigger river bet with the boat on the end but whatever. Thoughts on every street?

I think you have to fold here. Without any reads, you only beat a bluff and are splitting at best, but I think you're beat a lot. At this stage of the tourney, people aren't over shoving the river as bluffs very often. The fact the board pairs on the turn and he slows down screams strength as he is likely hoping you can catch up. Maybe other people think this is an easy call, but as played I think folding and waiting for a better spot is the best option. I think if opponent had a flush (unlikely) doesn't take this line, nor a 5, nor an Ace. It looks like AK. I fold and wait for a better spot rather than putting in 49BB hoping for a split

I agree you have to call here. He's not going to put you on a King, so he might think he's good with a flush (QJcc/QTcc/JTcc) or could even have something like QQ/JJ/TT and is trying to push you off an Ace or whatever. Then you have to factor in all the hands you split with (KQ/KJ/KT).

Plus if you're wrong you'll still have a healthy 40bb stack.

agree with a lot Jonty says, but the thing with the turn is - on the river now beat his A5. I would minraise A5 from that position and might check that turn as well/as played.

But in the end, without further information it's a guessing game. AA & AK and 55 has us beat and the question remains if villain would play AQ like this (or any Ax, doesn't matter).

That beeing said, I don't like the river donk. If we check, he bets, we put in a smalish 3bet and he still shoves, it's a clear fold. with this donk bet we allow him to do just what he did, which leaves us guessing.

I folded... We were about 500 left out of 12000 or so, so I wanted to maintain a big ol stackeroo, rather than calling for a chop at best I think. Unless he's a total monkey which it turned out he was. Still think he had a better boat though.

I think we should be betting for value most of the time but in this case without reads I'd be more inclined to x/c. There are very few combos that beat you here, so that's why I'm calling.
