Let's say there are 3 players left in a large tournament. Player A is chip leader. Players B and C are friends, and neither know player A.

Let's say there is a break with these 3 players left. During this break, players B and C decide to split both of their action 50/50 in order to nullify the big stack's massive ICM advantage. Is this cheating? Is it more ok if they are upfront about this with player A?

I think this is almost spot on but I would also say that a key point is:

any deal at a final table to which all parties are not aware of is not ok.

So it's ok if it's disclosed? So if two people say "we're not going to go in against each other, and focus on attacking you" that would be ok?

No, not condoning it at all. It's collusion.

What I meant was that "awareness of deal" should be a third part of your statement:

any deal that all parties are not part of or not in agreement with or not aware of is not ok"

So if any one of those three conditions is not met, then it shouldn't be allowed to happen. Sorry if that wasn't clear in my last post

Seems impossible to do this and NOT affect their normal decision making. Also why I would never play cash on an American site since most of the regs are sharing action and basically raping any random that has the bad luck to sit in.
