Intro:
Hello, I am a 22 y/o poker player/stump grinder from CT. By no means do I consider myself a great player, but I am looking to improve. I recently read and fell in love with Gus Hanson's "every hand revealed", and used some of his aggressive tendencies the past few tournaments. I have found to have bluffed away many of my chips however and did not see a cash for 4 tournaments straight until last night. Since this was my beat performance, I thought I would share my thought process with the 2+2 community.

The following are three of my most important hands in last nights 120 dollar daily tournament at my local casino (I realize this may qualify for low stakes forum as well).

Please give me a 0-10 rating for each hand!

Hands 1. Binds 200/400 50 ante
On button with qc10c
Stacks about even (early stages of tournament)
1 limper and I make a standard raise (3xbb) to 1200

Bb calls limper calls

Board 10d 4h 2d

Checks to me and I bet 3/4 pot
Bb folds, Old lady/limper calls

Turn 8d
OL checks
I bet 3/4 of pot
Ol calls

I figure here she may have flush but cant read her, she maintained a faint smile nearly every play of tournament. Later I would label her play Very passive (not necessarily tight) however with no bluffs in her playbook.

The final card is Ah

I dont know where Im at here, and fire again for 5000 in chips, she goes all in for 6000 more and I fold.

She shows Ad5d

Hand 2.
99 in sb about 70k stack blinds at 800/1600 200 ante

Two mp limpers

I raise to 7000 and get one caller from a guy with roughly the same amount of chips.

Board comes acjd10s

I wait a little while to count chips and fire a 15000 bet only to be snap called

Turn is a 7h

A guy shot!
6 outs.
I put him on exactly what he had, a weak ace.

I thought I could maybe get him to fold still.

I go all in for the rest of my chips, around 60k.

He shows his ace 8 and folds after about 25 seconds of deliberation.

I show bluff, then get really tight afterwards in starting hand selection.

Hand 3.
Blinds 1200/2400 300 Ante
Battle with previous hand villian part two.
We are both pretty big stacks at this point I have around 110k and he has 80k.

Out of position again, this time with kc8c in the bb. We are 6 handed here with around 14 players left of a 60 man tournament.

Villian raised in mp to 6000

Less than 3x the bb, I call

Board:
9c5c8s

I check to raiser he bets the pot

I look at him and have to decide on a call or a raise.

I see weakness in his eyes.

I deliberate and see fold equity as worth the gamble. I shove he snap calls.

I figure Im up againts atleast an over pair but he flips js10c.

I have a 70/30 percent of winning hand!

Turn jd
River qh

Yay.

Personal opinion on hand:
With fold equity The play makes sense to me, but the stack sizes and me being out of position I guess I did not really think of.

I end up taking 7th in tournament just making the money.

Let me know what you guys think of my plays overall, and give me any tips if you would be so generous!

Hand 1 betting river really butchers the hand after a close turn spot. You have better hands to bet for value. By betting, you open the action up to getting x/r.

Hand 2 is impossible to comment without knowing the position you opened from or the position of the flatter. Open size is too large though. Pick one standard open size, something between 2.25 and 2.5 live.

Hand 3 is kind of what ever.

To clarify hand 2:
I was in the small blind facing a preflop middle position limp. I made a 4xbb raise with 99 and then barrelled twice on ace high board with a gut shot.

I think this is my second worst hand of the three.

I did lay down qq preflop against aa, forgot to add that in the original post. Probably a much better hand than my first one!
