Fold or 3b/call seems better first time around vs 17bb stack. As played even if his range is like AJs/AQo/99+ we might be getting odds to call but some sort of read can turn it into an easy call or easy fold.

I agree with this. Also, 88 is a really awkward hand if we get squeezed by the BTN and UTG+2 range should be pretty strong to raise rather than jam out of a 17BB stack unless that's how villain always plays that stack depth. I would probably just 3b here more often than not, and assume I'm sigh calling off against SB or UTG+2 the majority of the time.

3b call vs utg+2 if he isn't a nit. As played I'm folding most of time, sb range there seems pretty strong, but it depends on the SB player, if he is very aggresive you can find a call there.

Didn't realized UTG has 17bb, yeah either 3bet/c or fold pre.
I would also 3bet if blinds are good/aggro.
    Seems close here as played.

If he was deep stacked as you were then I would flat more, with his stack size you can 3bet, but then what if he jams? I dont like it plus hes in EP with the short stack so I might fold here.

    How did you place?
