Is this too large? I don’t want to see A, Q, T, or heart on the turn.
My sizing says let’s play for stacks

The reason I posted this is bc V tank folded AK.

Now V was talking with another player about playing 3k tournaments so they are obviously a lot better than me.

However this is a great spot to cripple a really good opponent, and I’m not sure whether I screwed this up? They clearly made an excellent fold.

AP, I don't mind the x/r but sizing is too big. A raise to 8, 8.5k is plenty enough to plan a jam on good turns.

wow what a sick fold, what position are you in? i would fold to the 3 bet pre also. calling kjo oop to a 3 bet is terrible and your losing alot of money here. great flop for you, check raising her you did make it too much, you can trap yby flatting and letting them barrell off to you or check raise a bit small saying you have a draw or a weak kx. you sscared them off im guesssing becasue your image they made this fold. you mustve been folding alot idk. Sick fold but you also made it alot with your flop3 bet

I was in HJ, pre it was 1.5k to win 4.5k so I thought that was a good price.
I don’t like playing out of position against opponents that are most likely better than me, but if they are 3! suited connectors and wheel aces then I have to defend KJ. (Maybe this isn’t a tournament range? I pretty much only play deep cash games)

To me, I was thinking they have to call 7.5k to win 20.5k so how can they fold AK?

Not sure what position you're in, but I probably lean slightly towards limping pre especially if you think players behind are going to 3-bet lots vs what they'd perceive as limper isolation. If we are raising go somewhat bigger, maybe more like 1.4K.

Sizing by button seems like a mistake as it gives us super odds to call 1.5K to win a pot that's going to be 6.3K.

Flop is weird. I don't think raising here is as clear-cut as it might seem at first glance.

In villain's 3-bet range there aren't a ton of good draws (AhQh is honestly the most likely one) so it's not like we need to raise for protection. We do have value here obviously with the KJ and 88 but also a lot of draws, so if we start raising this flop with a bunch of them we can easily overbluff. We also block the KQ/AK hands that villain most likely has on this board that we want to get multiple streets of value from.

All that being said I'm guessing we probably should raise KJ but it's not 100% obvious to me.

As to villain's AK fold (if he's being honest) I think it's close but it makes some sense to me, even to a smaller sizing. He's going to fold all of his no-equity bluff hands and perhaps checks some QQ/AJ/TT-type hands or maybe even KQ sometimes, so he probably also wants to fold his worst value hands. And KQ/AK w/o any additional equity like backdoor hearts seems reasonable as folds, knowing that he has KK/JJ/AA/AK w/heart and maybe stuff like AhQh/AhTh that can consider continuing with.
