What would you advise for the first day of the tournament in preparations and in the strategy it self?
hit the gym in the morning for a little cardio;
if the casino has a TV stick to watching it for the first four levels, only playing nuted hands. Can limp behind or overcall some raises with suited aces and pairs in late pos, but playing hit or miss. Use this time to get to know your opponents and find weak spots.
As the antes kick in, play your normal game, open into weaker oponents, though still focus on position and sustaining a TAG image. gl
Thanks a lot Jankis any other advice from other people? any tip you can give me that helped you stay focused for 9h at a poker table is much appreciated
Bring some snacks. Listen to your opponents talk about their hands -- you can pick up an amazing amount of information as players talk about what they would have done or would have folded to, etc. If you get a bad beat, don't be afraid to get up from the table and take a walk -- so you miss a few hands, no big deal. Cool off and don't get tilted.
Play tight. Don't be the guy with headphones on listening to music. Watch and learn. Pay attention to hands even when not in one, and get a feel of the table and learn about table ettiquete. Play premium hands in position. Dont risk your whole stack early in the tournament unless u have the nuts.
