Blinds are 3000/1500 with antes

Day 2 of the tourney is just starting. Hero is effective stack with 60,000.

Folds to hero on the button (A9)
Hero bets 9000
SB (350000) calls

Pot 25,000
Flop 7 8 10 rainbow
SB check, Hero check

Turn 4
SB 15,000

Should I be betting this flop? As played do I shove here?

First, open smaller. 6k to 6.5k is biggest you should go here on a 20bb stack in my opinion. Also Cbet flop and re-eval based on opponents actions.

Open for 6k leads to a 19k pot. You can bet what 1/4 or 1/3rd pot 5k-6k and get heaps of info. This allows you to barrel turn for small and leave a psb back for river. As played, easy muck.

not a texture we want to be cbetting all that frequently btn vs sb so id certainly choose a larger sizing if i cbet. however A9 is one of our easiest checkbacks otf. not sure why you would „get heaps of info“ (not that you need that anyway) by betting small seeing vil either x/c or x/r.

i agree with pre being way too big though.
