BTN: All in (~50BB)
Hero (SB): QQ ?

Just moved to the table, no reads on villains, but at this stage of the tournament play seemed tight.

Can we justify a fold? I would probably sigh fold JJ here. Thoughts?

Line check

Most of table covers Hero, post bubble a very active table with lots of open shipping

Deep in 50+5 ignition 25k gtd, 3k/6k/600a 95k eff (60ish players left)

Folded to Hero MP1 KK, open limp (to encourage a steal)

V in MP2 covers, opens to 13k

BB covers both (all roughly equal stacks), flats

Hero limp-rr 39k

Are all streets botched?

Re: Official MSMTT quick checkup thread

I'm a super occasional fish, qualified for the SM from some 11$ tournament. Friend says I should've called the 3bet as well, I think it would've been better to just fold after the first raise, what you think?

https://www.boomplayer.com/23167092_1FCD1F76C8

Also, he's like snap fold here, but I've seen villain do weird stuff, idk if I want to fold AK here

https://www.boomplayer.com/23166721_D1759DFBA3

thanks for the help!

22 - fold to the initial open and definitely fold to the squeeze like you did.

AK - well played, unlucky

Re: Official MSMTT quick checkup thread

$450+50 live 8-handed, 1,200/2,400 ante 300. Folded to me on button with 40k. SB has 80k and is nitty. BB has 45k and is an older gentleman.

What should my pushing range be? What should BB's range be?

Thanks.

Re: Official MSMTT quick checkup thread

$107 Half-Price Sunday Million Full Ring

330 out of 22,000 left; average stack is 600kish

10k / 20k / 2k Blinds
--

Hero is BB (240k stack) with 6-6

All fold to SB (430k stack) , who is 18/16 over 40 hands and has his results blocked on Officialpokerrankings, so he is presumably a good player.

SB shoves, Hero ?

--

We must always call here, right? A good player will shove a super broad range in this spot, especially against me (I had stats of 10/9 with a 100% fold BB to steal at this table since I was moved there about 50 hands ago), and we have a sub-average stack and a decent hand.

I know this is probably a super basic spot, but I'm a cash player

Re: Official MSMTT quick checkup thread

All Japan Poker Championship 2017 Day 2. All players in Day 2 have made it through separate Day 1 qualifier tournaments, and represent the top 10% of the Day 1 field.

Day 2 players start with 10000 chips, 40 min blinds starting at 25/50. There were 317 players. This hand occurred on the second day of Day 2, with about 65 players remaining. It was the third hand of the day, and all players at the table were unknowns.

Exact stack sizes are also unknown. Hero is by far the short stack. All other players look to have more than 20 and probably at least 30 BB. There is a monster stack at the table who could easily have 100 BB.

The table is 10 seats. However, the seat directly to hero's left has a stack with no player. The seat two to hero's left is empty for this hand, but a player has moved from another table and will enter the next hand (this hand is 8 handed).

Preflop, hero is BB with 99. Blinds are 1000/2000 with 300 antes. After posting the BB, hero has 16,300 remaining.

2nd position (effectively UTG) raises to 4,500. 3 folds, the monster stack in 5th position 3 bets to 12,000, 2 folds, Hero goes all in, UTG folds, monster stack calls, shows ako. wins with a pair of aces.

Is this an acceptable spot to get it in vs unknown players with 8 BB remaining? The action was strong but the odds were great, especially considering it would be hard for UTG to continue with the hand out of position vs. the monster without a premium hand.

P.S. I wasn't sure where to post this, so my apologies if it's in the wrong spot. Entry was free, but by Day 2 I'm imagining the skill level approximates a mid stakes MTT.

Re: Official MSMTT quick checkup thread

Just checking on my preflop utg shove range with ~15bbs and ~11bbs:

Pocket 8s. I have ~120k, blinds 4k/8k. Shove? I did....

A5s. I have ~34k, blinds 1.5k/3k. Shove? I did....

Is this not enough information? Do I need to provide how many left and all that? We were in the money already in both....both seem like clear shove or fold spots, no? Never just raising? Was I supposed to fold either of these? I'm a newb, help.

A5s with 5 players left to act, 12bb is a +ev shove if far from money. If you are on bubble or in money, it might be an ICM fold - you should get an ICM calculator to check these spots ICMIZER or equivalent

Thanks for the reply. Yeah 6 handed I know it is +ev, but I mean for 9 handed tables.

Big $11, ITM, 60 left:

Reg opens CO 2xBB, BTN flat (fun player), is it an easy spot to shove 29bbs with A7s? The reg opened previously UTG+3 A9o, 2xbb.

I decided to shove since he is a reg and he probably has a wide range to open 2xbb from here. I did not 3bet because I think I have a little to small stack and the fun player would definitely call a 3bet. Flatting A7s 3way seems also not good.

    Wrong?

Facing a bet which is barely a min-raise in a multi-way pot, which is less than 10% off your stack, why not call with a pocket pair? (then flop or drop)
Though fold if you think someone after you is likely to go all-in
