Parx daily today. They were trying to chop with 14 players left.

Down to 6, bliinds about to go 30,000-60,000 with a 5 or 10 thousand ante. Probably 5,000.

5 of us had roughly $500,000-$700,000. 6th guy had $100,000. He was cantenkourous previously about chopping, but he went from $600,000 to $100,000 in a hurry.

First prize was $2,700. 6th was $469. Chop value was $1,262 (over third place money).

Should you wait for the $100,000 guy go out, or double up, an risk running into on of the fellow big stacks, or was 6 way even chop fine?

Everyone was fine with it. $1,100 profit for a $100 daily was fine with me.

What would you all do?

6 way chop seems ok if everyone is on board. I'd try to chop at 3 though. Anything can happen. If you don't chop you could get knocked out shortly after.

I would never chop equally in this spot if one player had 100k and rest had 600-700k. I would probably offer an icm chop in this case if I really wanted to chop and not really navigate the potential to bust 6th.

If said player denied icm, I would just wait till he busted and then do the following:

1) if you are above average, offer icm chop.

2) if somehow you have 300-400k and rest have 600-800k, I would offer an even chop and see if there was any resistance. If resistance I would say I’m fine with an icm chop. Do this bc some people won’t really push back to hard if you offer an even chop im guessing. I would not offer an even chop though if I was above chop. Icm all the way if you have above average.

The chop you stated, 5 players are giving up some money I feel and giving it to player in 6th. You can say whatever you want about that but I feel it’s kinda a bad idea as player has 2 bbs left and should be out of mtt within a couple of hands. I’m not a fan of giving up equity in this spot when we can wait for him to busy and increase even chop value while it’s not really that risky to wait for said player to bust if you know basic icm.

14 handed to 6 handed they were trying to negotiate a chop.

Was really annoying.

Always one guy who said no, or another guy who was trying to get more money.

People were yelling at each other.

Gave me a headache.

I play at Parx a lot and there was another guy from the limit O.E. and Big O game I play, so I wasn't going to say no if it was even chop.

And, I have good job. The $469 to $1,262 wouldn't really impact my life. Or the $2,700 first prize.

But, most dailies end up in some sort of chop, so thoughts on etiquette and how bad of a deal I made with the one short stack would be appreciated!

Good points JK Poker, but was donk fest. 15 minute levels.

Skipped some blinds, went from 4-8 to to 6-12, they skipped 5-10.

$100 buy in. Not like the Saturday daily they run, which typically has really solid play.

Most donk fests end in some deals. And one guy wanted a ICM chop earlier, but I was giving up too much.

ANd, yeah, I know to avoid the other big stacks till the short stack doubles up or busts, but things happen.

With everyone at 8-12 blinds, was not a ton of maneuvering.

But I did feel we just handed that one guy money.

He walked away with a big smile on his face. Yea the Sunday daily is super turbo. Most people there rarely bluff and only bet when they have something

Funny, I didn't have a pair higher than 7's all day. My 7's ran into 3's, and my 5's into 7-5 suited.

Got a J-9 all in through and 8-3 suited on the button through.

Then, just a bunch of ace kings that didn't run into anything better.

Oh, and my K-9 shove got called by a-5 suited in the blind. King on the turn. Haha. Was really the only one I got lucky on.

Your chop value only goes up $150 if small stack bombs out and gets 6th place.

You probably would make a deal if you offered small stack 1000 and everyone else gets 1300. Short stack usually will take a haircut when getting double his likely payout.

I offer and make deals all the time when average stack is 10-12bbs.

I think it's ok to punish this guy, either by refusing to chop or insisting he takes less, if you are so inclined. I personally would not care, but if he annoyed you, it would not be bad etiquette to try and wait for him to bust.
