Multi-Flight MTT - ITM, but short at end of Day 1 Multi-Flight MTT - ITM, but short at end of Day 1

Greetings ! Used to belong to these forums forever ago, but havent been around much. Thanks in advance on this.

I'm an occasional 2-3,5-10 cash player. Last weekend I put in 1 bullet in the $360 WPT Event #1 at MD Live Flight 1-B (6:00pm).

200 entries, top 25 pay. They will play down to 10 (pay out 11th - 25th)

I make it to 19th, which locked up $700 and am looking at 76k in chips, average stack is 200k. Blinds are 3k-6k with a 6k BB ante. I notice I am starting to get tired as I worked all day and flew back from out of state as well. I'm pretty short with 12 BB and I do NOT want to return for Day 2 in order to immediately bust out. I want a playable stack. In the earlier flight one guy had bagged 1million chips, another with 520k.

I look down at 1010 in MP. 2 limpers. I was wary of the limpers, because limping was not the norm for our table or for the 2 agressive players who limped in ahead of me. Another table had just broken though - so we were full 10 handed. I jam PF and pick up all the chips and now have 103K (17BB).

Next hand I pick up 76. I thought for only a second and jammed again. I was still cleaning up chips and I had not been shoving at much at all recently, so I thought people would have to give me credit for a strong hand.

Ladders: 11th-15th $850 10th - Day 2 (unknown)

Questions:
Was I too fixated on getting a stack for Day 2?

Was 76s reasonable hand to jam with?

From a pure shoving chart perspective, 76s isn't nearly good enough to shove 17BB from MP/EP. If you thought the table was super passive and was overfolding to open shoves, then maybe I could torture myself into arguing for it.

As far as the Day 2 thing, I try very, very hard not to get focused on that. I'd rather just play correctly in relation to my stack and payout situation at the time. I guess there might be some other factors that should influence our decisions but by and large they should be relatively trivial versus just playing good solid poker.

1) Yes. A 17 BB stack is very workable in the latter stages of a tournament. With some patience and a nice run of cards you could easily build a stack in this tournament. I understand how the fatigue can be withering - but as jpgiro said, you should be looking to play correctly in relations to your stack at all time.

2) Not even close. Here's a thought. What if instead of ripping the 76s, you just min raise it. You're not putting your tournament life on the line, but you're ramping up your aggression in a scenario in which you might otherwise just feel like punting. I consider this a mini punt

Thanks much guys! After the result, i felt like it was a punt as well. I think if i would have gotten the hand 1 hand earlier with 12BB and 2 limpers, i would have jammed with it and felt ok. I had to get through so many other hands (including much bigger stacks) at a full ring, pushing 76s must be wrong. Thanks again!

As far as result: CO or HJ with about 30-35BB tanked forever and finally called with AKo. flop came 8-rag-rag, turn 5 - so i had 14 outs - and river 8. Opponent thought i tabled 2 6s, but since his hand was already face up I didnt get a miracle muck.

I think there's some merit to having hands not quite good enough to shove that you instead min-raise (balancing out with the top of your range) but I'm not sure 76s is even good enough to add to that category.
