Hello MTT crushers Let's discuss the current change to the MTT strategy forums.

Most of the MTT strategy forums got merged into one. If you haven't yet had a chance to read about filters and how to use them to display only high stakes threads please go here - LINK

Do you like the change, love it, hate it, or didn't even notice it? Let's hear everyone's opinion.

Why was MTTC merged with the strategy forums, though? Strategy talk was discouraged there in general. It was a homey place for the MTT community to get together and talk about non-strategy stuff, back in the day at least.

I really think MTT community has to be it's own thing.

There are a lot of things that can be discussed there that are not related to strategy.
Strategy forum is a whole thing of it's own and I agree that you can merge LOW/MID/HIGH stakes into one there and have it specify in the thread title.

I also think LIVE tournament forum needs to be a thing of it's own because it was pretty relevant during the live scene and think it will be a good place to revive once LIVE mtts become a more common thing next year.

Thanks for sharing your view.

Where would you place the MTT community forum? It can be placed inside the Poker Strategy section next to the No Limit Tournaments or perhaps inside 2+2 Communities or as a subforum of No Limit Tournaments.

How would you name Online MTT and Live MTT forums?

MTT Community MUST be it's own section

The tag idea is silly unless it's a tag that explicitly identifies the buy-in (an actual $ amount--for that reason it should not be a drop-down menu and the poster should have the ability to enter the buy in themselves) and nature (online vs live) of the the event. That would make all thread titles have the form

[Buy-in][Live/Online][Title]

Which is the way it should be in order to keep this place neat and organized and actually useful. In it's current form, the MTT section has none of those qualities.

If low stakes HHs are to be lumped in with mid+ stakes, then at the very least uses should have the ability to filter for tags that are relevant to them.

Online MTT and Live Strategy belong together and not in separate sections--it's the same game. However, a section regarding upcoming live events including locations and schedules should be available and separate from any strategy sections.

[MID] and [HIGH] tournament forums were joined some years ago because posters in the high only MTT forum were dwindling. If we are going to keep the new format going forward we should be able to filter both [MID] and [HIGH] at the same time.

Also it would be nice if the last filter we used stayed with us every time we enter the forum. Its annoying to have to filter every time.

Lastly, I see that there are a ton of threads that have no prefix at all. Many are [MID] and [HIGH]. Not sure why this happened. Shouldn't all old [MID] forum threads have been given [MID] prefix?

I’m not a fan of seeing a bunch of low limit tournament threads when I don’t play them. I understand why mid-level and high-stakes were merged, but this decision will probably stop me from visiting the sub forum.

I don’t wanna bother with using the filters. There are so many superfluous sub forums on here, it seems silly to merge all tournament forums into one. I can only surmise the decision was made by traffic, but if you cared about poker this decision would not have been made.

My two cents, only shared cause I got a PM by an admin.

I'll see your 2 cents and raise it to 4 cents (yes a string bet!).

The old mid-high stakes MTT forum wasn't very busy, but it had a small group of regulars who made it interesting.

The game play of small/micro tournaments is so different, that combining them makes little sense, imo.

Like the idea to simply put the buyin in the title, that should be easy to do.

Otherwise I like the changes, forum is a lot cleaner looking now.

Also @ eggs theres a 'tournament events' section in live poker. Having MTTc/live events forum is redundant.

Really don't get what the issue is with these changes

Almost nobody posted about live poker in MTTc.
