Villain is Dario Sammartino so hugely experienced and has played a lot of pots but not overly aggressively, minimal 3betting pre. He's seen me make one (I think) mistake vs him where I called turn/river with top pair vs his top two where if I'd thought properly he couldn't really have enough bluffs to make it a call.
I've been card dead for the past hour or so, so perceived v tight. My image to the villain will presumably be funplayer, rec or whatever the current term is. We used to just call them fish. I'm assuming I should have 3bet pre? But as played?

FWIW I didn't think shoving was ever an option here.
With villain's perception of me does he ever expect me to fold any 2 pairs/sets? I could have AJs/A9s/89s in my range as well as QTs 99/88, possibly 44
Thanks, I actually ended up folding as I thought my range looked like it had to be 2 pair minimum and that the villian would never expect me to fold that - especially getting such a good price, therefore he would have to have better...
Well this is kind of what I was wondering. If he's raising there expecting me to always call 2pair+ what does he have that I actually beat? AJ/9/8, does he raise them?
Dont like it much but we gotta have a b/c range otr and this hand would be included in there, think his range from the bb can be wide enough to include some worse holdings sometimes
Never folding. Your line looks like a stab at an orphaned pot. You just can't bet fold a set there. Villain could have some bluffs, like KQ, or have turned a pair plus queen into a bluff, since he blocks the nuts. He might even have Tx, since that blocks both straights.
He just about never has 2 pair, since with 2 pair on the turn he is almost always betting, and you block all 8x hands as well as you can. So, his hand is either 32, or at least 20 combos of straights, and less value than he thinks he has, since he doesn't know you block 8x 2P. You may not beat any values, but he *will* have bluffs here.
I guess we have to call if we think he has some kind of bluff frequency here, because it makes some sense that 44 could've missed a c/r on the turn. I doubt he's raising worse than that for value though, and given the amount of QT/T7 combo's this could easily be a fold.
If you bet 40-50% pot I'd call the raise, but with the 75% pot I think we're already perceived to be quite strong, so he's not going to randomly bluffraise JT almost ever because he doesn't expect us to fold anything ever. Call if unsure, fold if you think he views you like this.
There are some worse value hands in v range when he raises river like A4,AJ,A9,A8,44,J9,J8,98 that as Soepgroente mentions that could have missed a x/r ott. Also we have to keep in mind this pot there has been minimal action as its checked through both flop and turn, v does not have to be completely nutted here.
