Many players aren't capable of turning gutshots and oesd into a bluff especially on the river, which makes me think it's always for value. ( unless he's insane I highly doubt villain does this with 99/TT)

66/77/89/85/53s//T8/T9/95 (sorry for arrangement). I did not include Ax hands because I probably have faced a raise on the turn.

I should've been more cautious since villain called the bet on the turn.
What do you guys think of my bet on the river and how would you proceed vs a raise?

Seems like the Ad isn't a great card for us to barrel as a bluff so maybe check?

Don't mind checking the flop somtimes as well. We block backdoor clubs etc.

It looks entirely like a monster and like you say people don't bluff here much in a $5 so fold now and curse our luck.

I agree with the river bet - I think V has a fair number of worse As that are going to call and fairly few hands that beat us. I doubt there are many Vs showing up with straights here. It's greedy but the micros tend to reward greed with value hands.

This is never a bluff after you show strength with 3 bullets and a large river bet.

I'm unsure about the river bet though. Sure you get calls from some Ax but there are some missed draws (98, backdoor diamonds) that might fold to a river bet but bluff when checked to. Some middle pairs might also try to get a fold from a better PP.

I like all of your ideas, though I wanted my river sizing to be smaller and then fold to a jam.

OTR I bet around 2000. I don't want to check and face a huge river bet by villain and with this small bet I can :

safely fold if he raises
get value from lesser ace if he calls ; I mean with that board like this a BIG river bet is only going to get called/raised from something that beat us.

As played we have 3:1 to call. We beat AJ and AT and lose vs A7 A4 A6 77 66. UUfff. I probably call and hate life and poker when he beats me

IMO line is fine until riv - i think bet/folding this strong is a disaster. Check to induce.
Your double barrel OTT is pretty polarized with sizing and all up until
that point in the hand. I think you do lose value because you bet so big OTT, id size down a little there and size bigger OTF, i'd just slam half pot OTF.
It's so hard for your opponent to float you here unless they are a pure calling station.

I see some people advocate checking turn sometimes which IMO id prefer against peeps with higher AFq/AF stats post who can turn gutshots/oesd/underpairs into bluffs. If we check turn, I think i'm still checking river to induce against these player types. If we are sure we can value target something OTR against a more passive player who may check back those holding if we check to them, then betting small could be ok.

I don't think we can disregard a worse ace here either, but yeah river is a check call or bet really small

River seems a clear bet/fold. What hands exactly are we checking to induce bluffs from? 54s and 89s exactly? I don't think most players are turning something like 87dd into a bluff. Also, gonna be super tilted if he checks back something like A5s.

Agree that the sizing should be smaller on river also, to allow him to sigh call 88-TT on occasion, and since we are bet/folding.
