FT $350 live AJo BB

Itm with $6500 up top, 10 remaining FT

MAWG local pro (25BB) opens UTG 2.5BB
folded to Hero BB with As Jc calls (20BB)

Were 2nd and 3rd in chips, 3 players with 5-7BB

V is strong player, tends to be fairly tight pre and post, happy to check back mid strength IP.

Flop Ts 8s 6s

Checked to V who bets 1.5BB

Hero? Not folding obv but do we cc here or c/gii given icm? Trying to avoid a fairly obvious small cbet bomb turn line from V that may force me to fold a ton of equity.

Usually my default is to x/r flop pre icm here, but with these type of icm implications and our stack I can get behind a x/c, this hit our def range so he might have to pot control turn and he can xb mid strength as per your reads. If we x/r and he jams we sorta have to call off and its a bit of an icm disaster

I'm probably going to c/gii. Though with your description it looks like villain has a pair and possibly an overpair. It would be a shame if villain had AK and thought he had two overs and the flush draw and called... And I have been bouncing out of tournaments frequently the first time I am all in - whichever side of the flip I am on.

Even though there are 3 small stacks, the real big increases are from 5 on up. If my strategy was to c/c the flop with this hand then I would probably fold pre-flop to a fairly tight MAWG in UTG.

Pretty much my exact thoughts too. We can take the good price on the flop and reevaluate turn. I just want to do so much more with it. My default is to get aggressive on the FT and this is such an obvious spot to pile on the pressure.

I think you’re correct in terms of range advantage and potential pot control also, although we can be in a bizarre spot if J+ hits the turn and V assumes the advantage has shifted.

Thnx @Rick for comments too. I know you’re never folding pre and I think cj is fine here almost always
