5 left, UTG with 150k at 2,500/5k , avg stack is 210k. Current payout is $1900, $7300 up top

Open to 12k with J8o, button (275,000) 3bet to 35,000

First question, is J8o a fold, call, or raise pre?

Second question, how do we proceed when facing the 3 bet to 35,000

SB and BB were 200kish and 180k

Thanks guys!

Welcome to the forum!

Horrible, horrible open

AP, kinda strange you're even considering continuing against a 3b (or limping pre, or opening this hand at all). What's your thought process here?

Am I reading these stack sizes right, avg stack=40bb? I don't think I have ever played a Bovada FT w/ avg stacks more than like 18bb.

I’m kind of staggered you’ve got to FT of a $162 online 6-max mtt without having open and in particular 3! defend ranges pretty well sorted.

J8 is usually not an open but table dynamic may (rarely) dictate otherwise

J8 is not in my raise call range

Are we about to find out you were the 3! and your KK was cracked by an impertinent J8o ?

There have been a couple posts recently that have inspired me to get some money back on bovada, thanks to all for the inspiration!

heh

i can't help thinking that some very savvy opponent is running pure exploit lines against a tight-weak Hero and that if we saw the 50 hands prior we'd r/c J8o too

Some FT hands (not this event) for your amusement.

Two of many incredibly silly Bovada hands I've witnessed

2nd hand is one of the egregious punts I've ever seen

And this is a $109.

PokerStars - 15000/30000 Ante 3000 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 3 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 18.05 BB (VPIP: 21.28, PFR: 21.43, 3Bet Preflop: 10.00, Hands: 48)
BB: 38.09 BB (VPIP: 44.44, PFR: 10.26, 3Bet Preflop: 16.67, Hands: 47)
Hero (UTG): 20.53 BB

3 players post ante of 0.1 BB, BB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.8 BB) Hero has 5 9

BTN raises to 2.1 BB, BB calls 1.6 BB, fold

Flop: (5.5 BB, 2 players) 8 T 9
BB calls 35.89 BB and is all-in, fold

BB shows 6 7 (Straight, Ten High)

Great shove, right?

Hand 1 is standard. SB has been very unlucky recently and knows you have the J or Q to make a straight or 95o to make a boat. Very nicely played.

Hand 2 is also standard. SB can see that BB has 4 cards (JsTsTh8h) and is therefore playing the wrong tournament. By moving AI, SB will DQ BB and be CL.
