    Generally shouldn`t aim to use suboptimal lines as a tool to avoid gross spots.

    Assume your two best lines vs specific villain are:
    - b/f turn (higher ev);
    - check back and give up riverz vs probe (lower ev)

    This case majority would opt for former one bc latter one looks even more gross.

    But since you`re unsure about his tendencies and former line looks gross its tempting to make your life easier and for some reason assign villain qualities (he doesn`t necessarily possess) to alter latter line into cute and clear one like "ch-bk turn & call river" and ez game.
    Its comfortable true but doesn`t necessarily produce higher ev.

    Or say you checked twice and still get c/jammed otr, would you consider checking back 3 times?

    As for specific spot, you have best AA to check back but generally your AA want to bet turn (you can check-back all KK and AK if needed).

    If you check back turn, you cannot just fold to a normal sized river bet.

    Kind of hate not getting value but checking back 3x isn't the worst since his calling range that you beat is pretty narrow. It's gross for sure, the fold isn't that clear though.

    I don't see a whole lot of jacks in his 3b calling range and we can safely assume he doesn't have KK as he should have 4b jammed pre. It's reasonable to assume V could have AK here. A bluff isn't completely out of the question either if he assumes you would have just flatted w/ AJ and perceived the check on flop as weakness. It's just a nasty board

    x/bf/bf is fine, checking turn is also fine if you think we can induce well on specific villians
