So here are 2 hands I played yesterday. In the first one I gave up because the board featured 3 clubs and overcard versus my JJ and in the second one I thought that V has a ton of aces in his range...However, today it feels like too passive play...any comments on this?

hi,

on both flops you should have a range advantage. so I'd cbet the first hand and go from there. as played I agree with folding turn.

in the second hand both villains seem pretty loose, so again rage advantage for our UTG open. but cbetting here against two villains is a bit more risky, and since we made second pair, checking is probably fine. but after MP bets and BB calls, I would fold on the flop, we have so few outs to improve.

Hand 2 seems like an easy fold...u can have some of the weaker Ax combos (A2s-A5s) that check flop, so u dont need to continue any Tx here after MP bets into 2 plyrs ott.

Hand 1 (JJ) is a little closer but prob still a fold vs Btn whose cold-calling range can be semi-strong. You also should iso a little bigger (4-4.5x) w 100bbs eff. The only underpairs that I continue ott vs this sizing are KcKx and QcQx. We dont want to double-block JTs w JJ or TT, so we can fold all those combos. Again, we can check flop at some freq with AxJc and AxTc along with AA. So no need to expand our bluff catching range to underpairs with bad blockers.
