$100 ACR Tourney

About 10 spots left on bubble. Both V (30 bbs) and me (47 bbs) are not short-stacked. V has been one of the more active players at the table. I have been fairly card dead for the last few levels and haven't been too involved.

OTTH

Fold to V in SB who completes. I have A7ss. I raise to 4 bbs. V calls.

Flop (9 bbs). Js7c3h. V open shoves?! Me?

I think you can find a better spot. Annoyingly fold.

And, I think your presize is too big. It bloats the pot when 2-3 x has same impact of taking it down right there.

Thanks Smudger. I did very annoyingly fold. I have found that I almost never take it down with 2x bvb. IP 3 might be better, but I decided to go bigger with bubble and stack size dynamics in mind.

Relatively easy fold when our opponent donk overbets that large. We're going to have all of our overpairs and Jx that are far better calling candidates.

No issues with sizing here. I don't mind going to 4BB if we're going to have a strategy that checks back a fair amount, smaller sizes just invite calls with all sorts of garbage. I do think A7ss is probably always a raise blind vs blind but if you wanted to just check back in this spot close to the bubble I wouldn't hate that either.

You're probably right, but bets that make no sense have a much higher bluff frequency. What is he trying to represent? This isn't a monster trying to trap. What it is really shouting is "H can't call in this spot if I shove unless he is Jx+. and even then he might give up some Js".
