You are on the sb with A A. We had an argument with a friend, he said this is a spot where calling would be best to get BB to come along. I said it would be better to shove because he will call the all in pretty much 9/10 times because of getting 2 to 1 and these odds would be better than having the possibility of getting the BB to come along and have a bigger pot. One of my arguments was also that getting it in pre flop is a lot more certain than on the later streets because people dont cbet that much on connected flops vs shortstacks.

What i mean, is since we are so short stacked, there is an argument of not isolating us here against button and trying to get BB in as well or try to make him isolate me against him. I agree, that it is a shove when we are in the BB or SB with anything else than AA, but with AA I see a point to try to get the BB to come along. And NOT because to get a slightly bigger pot pre, but to give him a chance to hit that flop or try to isolate us pre.

Shoving/folding looks natural for SB at that spot.
If u don`t have drooler`s image, than flatting would be very suspicious for BB.

But I`m unsure if BB would have any choice w 88+/AQ+ but squeeze 3bet us.
Then if button shove over 3bet or call BB shove it will be great.

Readless flat could be better vs LAGs in BTN and BB positions.

it is that simple unless we have a credible image as a drooler who will flat OOP with 8BB...doing anything but shoving seems like a great way to announce our hand and give them a chance to fold their KJ

Good players can use stop n go-s at around 8BB so u cant really put him on a monster.

Nah, he`d be ready & prepared for that.

dont think he is often folding pre vs you but he might just give up when he does not connect with the board in some way.
i just shove pre and be happy to have AA and not A2s tbh.
